After weeks of announcing Daredevil’s appearance in She-Hulk, Matt Murdock is finally here. He both battles Jen and teams up with her, eventually revealing his secret identity to her. The first half of the episode focused entirely on these 2 characters both inside and outside the courtroom. After watching the episode, fans took to Twitter to express their excitement and happiness at seeing the chemistry between Tatiana Maslany and Charlie Cox. In fact, fans want to see more of these two together. So let’s explore their relationship in the Marvel comics and their future in the MCU.
Jen Walters and Matt Murdock Have Crazy Chemistry in She-Hulk Episode 8
Jen and Matt even have an adorable cute encounter where they meet in court as opposing attorneys on a case involving Leap-Frog and Luke Jacobson. Jen’s client being an absolute jerk, she loses the case. Then we see the two in the bar where the lawyers seem to be hanging out. And that’s where the flirting begins. From the start, they have something between them. They seem comfortable and at ease with each other and engage in cute teasing and ribbing. Matt Murdock has his signature charming smile that Jen can’t resist, just like the rest of us.
They are then seen fighting when She-Hulk perceives him as the villain who went after his client Leap Frog aka Eugene Patilio. However, she gets the upper hand and removes her helmet to reveal Matt Murdock inside. After hearing how Leap-Frog took Luke Jacobson hostage, she teams up with Daredevil to take down the bad guys. This is obviously followed by adorable flirtations throughout their sneak attack. They even have a cute moment where Daredevil can hear Jen’s heart racing. Instead of turning green, Walters literally turned red.
After taking down Leap-Frog, Jen joined Matt on the roof of Lily Pad. Here, the tension between them was palpable and Matt even invited her to dinner the next time he’s in Los Angeles. However, Jen suggested they skip all that and get to work. Eventually, they gave in to their wishes and spent the night together before Matt had to return to New York. Even during his walk of shame, he looked like a charming devil. In fact, Jen kept breaking the fourth wall to tell us how much she cared about Matt and that something was up.
She-Hulk and Daredevil in Marvel Comics
There is no precedent for their romance in Marvel comics. In fact, they’ve only conversed a few times in all of Marvel history. You’d think the lawyer superheroes would have storylines together, but that’s not the case. However, when they met in the comics, their relationship appears to be one of mutual respect, mild teasing, and flirtation. They also clashed in court for a case. Daredevil and She-Hulk seem like friends who help each other out in times of need. But the MCU could very well deviate from that and put some real effort into making their relationship feel appropriate and realistic. Unlike how Bruce and Natasha were treated.
Their future in the MCU
As of now, things are pretty uncertain about their future in the MCU. But given the fan reaction, Marvel might consider making a She-Hulk appearance in a few episodes of Daredevil: Born Again which is the next Daredevil project. We would see Jen in her world for a change. Marvel could also use their dynamic to have her interact with other mainstream MCU superheroes.
