Stakt Mat: who are they and what do they do?

Millie Blumka participated in a number of social organizations while a student and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tulane University in 2016. Additionally, Millie worked as a fashion marketing intern at Runway2Street when she was a student, giving her the experience she needed. Millie joined SinglePlatform as an inside sales representative after graduating, but by October 2017 she had been promoted to senior account manager for partnerships.

Prior to being promoted to Sales Manager, Millie joined Simplifeye as Senior Channel & Partner Sales Executive after leaving SinglePlatform in October 2018. But in May 2021 Millie decided to change employers after securing the position of Partnerships Manager at Showfields because she didn’t want to stay too long in one place. She is currently serving as Director of Partnerships at the same organization after earning a second promotion.

Tulane University’s AB Freeman School of Business, meanwhile, awarded Taylor Borenstein a Bachelor of Science in Marketing in 2016. While an undergraduate, she interned for organizations such as Tour Director, Course Hero, Inc., ConvergeDirect and Bloomberg. However, after graduating in 2016, she joined Bloomberg as a product specialist. Taylor hasn’t changed jobs too often in her professional career, but she is very ambitious and has always let her talent and diligence shine through.

After only a few months at Bloomberg, Taylor received a promotion to Senior Product Specialist, and two further promotions later she is currently employed by Bloomberg LP as a Product Implementation Team Leader. When Taylor and Millie made the decision to start doing harder workouts, the Stakt Mat was created. Most yoga mats are often quite thin for comfort, making it difficult for users to engage in more demanding exercises like sculpting, Pilates, or high-intensity training. In addition, it becomes tedious to carry two mats, one for yoga and the other for other disciplines.

As a result, after realizing there was no way to solve their problem, Taylor and Millie pooled their ideas to create Stakt Mat. A thicker yoga mat that can be used for both yoga and other more demanding workouts is called the Stakt Mat. Additionally, consumers can use it for tricep dips and incline/decline exercises as it can be bent. In addition, the mat can be folded and stored in a small space. It is very simple to clean with water and oil-free soap.

Where is Stakt Mat now?

Although Millie and Taylor were aware of the brilliance of the Stakt Mat concept, they also understood that they had to promote it effectively in the market they were intended for. In order to sponsor the mats and expand their reach, the companies partnered with fitness instructors in SoHo, Manhattan, as they were knowledgeable in yoga and other forms of exercise. Additionally, they took to social media and, to their surprise, their Stakt Mat video went viral on TikTok. As a result, as soon as the rug was released, customers flocked to buy one and the supply quickly ran out.

Although Stakt Mat was initially highly regarded, trouble loomed on the horizon due to the COVID-19 outbreak, which forced businesses to shut down and disrupted their supply networks. Also, Millie and Taylor had to go over budget to work out these logistical issues, but they were desperate to win. The pandemic eventually subsided and as soon as regular business operations began, sales took off again.

As well as running a successful business, the couple also support charities and run the Upcycle program, in which they accept used Stakt Mats from customers in exchange for a discount on a brand new one. Customers looking to purchase a Stakt rug can only do so through their official website, and while the rugs are available in a variety of colors, a single piece costs $86.50. The emergence of Millie and Taylor has been quite inspiring, and we’re sure the company is heading for further success soon.

They get a lot of inspiration from other women business owners and social media influencers they follow, and these women never stop inspiring them to make their ideas a reality. They find a lot of their inspiration there. These women serve as an example for others to follow in order to succeed at the same level as them.

And it is clear from their knowledge that they have studied with the best. They promoted their product using a wide range of creative marketing tactics and partnerships, and these initiatives were successful in winning over the folks at Stakt. They were able to attract thousands of people before they even released their product by interacting with fitness influencers or sponsoring gym programs at SOHO, for example. When the video gained popularity on TikTok, they were able to completely sell out the Stakt rugs on day one.

Of course, the journey to a ticket-selling launch isn’t as dramatic as it might seem on social media. There will always be challenges and opportunities for improvement along the way. especially when starting a business in the midst of a global pandemic.

One of the toughest challenges for Millie and Taylor has been the supply chain disruptions caused by the outbreak. Finding alternatives to sending goods from abroad on time and on budget was not an easy task.

While talking about their business, Taylor and Millie reflected on the challenges facing their business and emphasized the value of continuous learning.
