Did you know Superman was a real football fan?
Henry Cavill, who played DC’s Superman in Steel manspoke about his love for football and how he came to admire the sport, on Jimmy Kimmel live, the American talk show, a few years ago. He briefly broached the subject as he told the audience about his fans’ loyalty to the NFL.

We would be surprised to learn that a British actor has become a fan of American football, but then again, Henry Cavill has always been full of surprises.
Henry Cavill has revealed he’s a true NFL fan
On Jimmy Kimmel liveHenry Cavill explained why he loved the sport so much and how he was a Chiefs fan, telling the football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. “How did it happen?” Kimmel asked the actor in reference to the same.
The batman versus superman The star had a rather intriguing story behind having Kansas City Chiefs as his favorite team.
He said he spent a lot of time in the country to start watching American football, after which he started having a liking for it too. “I started to like the sport and I realized that I had to choose a team. And the only way to pick a team was with something that would never change,” he stated.

Cavill wanted to pick a team and stick with it, be loyal to it, and so he thought that because “the only thing that wasn’t going to change” in his life was “the Superman aspect”, he would pick a team based on that. “I thought Superman is from Kansas, the people of Kansas support the Chiefs…it all added up,” he pointed.
According to him, if Superman was a football fan, “he would definitely be a Chiefs fan,” which was all the more reason for Cavill to support this particular team. “Wow, that’s weird” joked the show’s host.

Henry Cavill was a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan
the witcher The star mentioned the Chiefs as his favorite team, saying he likes them a lot. “The nation of chefs is a good family” he remarked.
When asked if he had ever had the opportunity to attend one of their games, Cavill replied that he had attended one of their games at Arrowhead. “It was an incredible experience” recalls the 39-year-old. He explained that it was his first time attending a match and he was delighted to be there.

He also said he was sidelined and the opener itself impressed him immensely as rugby games in England did not have such a big opener. “There were big jets of flame in the sky, and in England the teams come out, sing a song if it’s national,” he noted, “And then we hit each other.”
It certainly seems like Superman’s influence on Cavill’s love of the NFL and the Chiefs was just mild.
