Charlie Cox Revealed Marvel Could Reboot The Daredevil Story

As exciting as Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio’s return to the MCU was, it was preceded by a question that sparked some controversy: Is Daredevil canon? Since the characters are played by the same actors, some people conclude that this must be the case. Others, though less clear to many, it looks like Disney is going the soft reboot route.

Referring to Daredevil Born Again, Charlie Cox expressed his feeling that this is a “whole new situation”. It’s a sentiment that clearly suggests he thinks it’s completely different from his previous series.

Daredevil Season 3 Already Adapted Born Again In A Way

In the comic book adaptation of Born Again, Matt Murdock faces his toughest test yet as the Kingpin that destroys his personal life. The Kingpin employs a Nuke mercenary to kill Matt Murdock when he is left virtually homeless. Also, Matt’s interactions with Foggy Nelson and Karen Page have unexpected ups and downs. Born Again served as the main inspiration for Daredevil season 3, but it went through the usual revisions that every comic book adaptation goes through. The characters Nuke (by Jessica Jones) and Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) were swapped, and Matt returned to his original black costume. Other changes included the removal of Captain America and the Avengers.

Born Again’s excellent portrayal of Daredevil season 3 made the show’s conclusion all the more difficult for its fans as it was spot on. That disappointment has passed now that Daredevil is back in business, but it would still seem odd for current MCU Daredevil to return to Born Again after serving as the basis for Daredevil Season 3. Unless the “Born Again” subtitle refers to something else or a full revival.

Daredevil’s next appearance in Echo will surprise the world, as Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige said in D23 this year.

Echo will launch on Disney+ in the summer of 2023, while Daredevil: Born Again won’t be available until the following spring of 2024 and will consist of 18 long episodes. The decision to air 18 episodes may have been made because Kevin Feige and the production team felt that the Daredevil and Kingpin characters, played by Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, needed a longer plot. only six episodes. However, 18 episodes is a lot for a season of a streaming series, which makes me think that Daredevil: Born Again is more complex. There is still room for something remarkable to happen as the season could most likely cover all of its material in 13 episodes, similar to the Netflix series.
