The Targaryen Civil War in House Of The Dragon’s Future

According to a new theory, the next Targaryen Civil War will come into action after Rhaenys Targaryen is murdered by Larys Strong to win her dragon Meleys. Known as the Queen Who Never Was, she joined the Dragonknights in supporting Rhaenyra’s legacy to the throne.

Harwin Strong, brother of Larys Strong also happens to be the father of Rhaenys’ bastard children and was killed by his brother to become heir to the Strong family. Since the previous episode, the question of succession has arisen within the series. After Daemon cut off the face of Vaemond Velaryon, brother of Rhaenys husband, the now adult children of Rhaenyra and Alicent entered into a crisis and reignited their old clashes, creating a much bigger fight.

In the trailer for the next episode, Rhaenys is trapped just like Harwin had been, which could very well lead to her death. Although in the books she died a dragon rider’s death, in the series it seems her dragon Meleys could be captured to turn the tide against Rhaenyra and her allies. While his death wouldn’t have as huge an impact as one might expect, it would be enough to start a war already in the making for the Targaryens.

Civil war is to be fought between Rhaenyra and Aegon II, for succession to the throne from their father Viserys and supposedly in the previous episode the king is apparently dead. So it could very well allude to the trigger, even if it deviates a lot from the books.

House Of The Dragon And Game Of Thrones Often Deviate From The Source Material

Both games of thrones and Dragon House are hugely famous shows, both relying heavily on their shock factor and grand dragons. Much like its parent series, the ongoing show starring Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy has strayed too far from the books.

The story in the books reigns to be very different from the angle the show chose to take. many like game of thrones, where the final season aired even before the book was released. Dragon House sees Vaemond’s severed head being fed to Rhaenyra’s dragon, a change in Laena’s death as well as some massive but necessary changes that have made their way into the series.
