Dragon House actor Paddy Considine revealed that game of thrones author George RR Martin texted him to compliment him on his performance in the GOT spin-off, House of the Dragon.
Dragon House is a prequel series, set 200 years before the events of game of thrones. The series is based on the novel by George RR Martin Fire & Bloodwhich depicts a civil war between House Targaryen known as ‘The Dance of the Dragons.’

George RR Martine was impressed by Paddy Considine
Paddy Considine played King Viserys, a noble king who tries to hold his kingdom together as his health deteriorates, in the first eight episodes of the hit HBO series. The Companion The actor revealed in a new interview that Martin, the author of the novel the series is based on, approved of his take on the character.

The Peaky Blinders the actor revealed that the game of thrones the author messaged her and enjoyed her performance. He said,
“I got a text that just said, ‘Your Viserys is better than my Viserys’, it was from George RR Martin. And I thought, ‘This will do it. Thanks for trusting me.’”
During a Q&A video posted to Twitter ahead of the series premiere, George R.R. Martin also publicly praised Considine’s portrayal of Viserys. “King Viserys Targaryen I as portrayed by Paddy Considine in the show is better than how I wrote King Viserys in ‘Fire & Blood'” said Martin. “He’s stronger, he’s still conflicted, but he’s more of a tragic figure. He has aspects of King Lear going for him, dare I [say] that, and it made his portrayal really interesting to watch on the show.

Viserys spent much of Season 1 of Dragon House trapped in the heart of his family’s internal conflict. Despite Viserys’ efforts to reunite his loved ones throughout the season, Dragon House Episode 8 became a defining moment for Viserys and his family.
Paddy Considine defends his character from criticism
The actor defended the character against claims by some fans that he is monotonous, saying: “There’s this perception that he’s weak, which I think is absolutely absurd. He’s just too compassionate for the job. I think it was a sense of duty that got to him.
“He was the only person in this kingdom who had fucking morals. He holds everything together as long as he can. I thought he was a joy to play. He believed in duty above all else. I don’t know if people understood that correctly.
