Continuing the legacy of Christopher Reeves, Henry Cavill was cast as Superman for Zack Snyder Steel man. Since then, the actor has appeared in several DC films, including two versions of Justice League.

On the other hand, many more actors have donned the Batman costume, with Robert Pattinson being the latest. But Ben Affleck’s casting as Batman garnered a lot more attention as it was the caped crusader’s first time taking on the Scout.

Henry Cavill’s casting as Superman was controversial, mostly because he wasn’t the first choice for many DC fans. But after watching Steel man, fans believed it was a mistake. Many call his acting woodsy and lacking in charisma, while some blame it on the poor script.

But to go further Justice League and fans warmed to his performance as Superman, with many finally wanting to see the sequel to Steel man. But after Zack Snyder left the DCEU, the witcher star followed suit, as he was the face of Snyderverse.

His stint as Superman would have ended right there had it not been for the fans who wanted to see the actor in Dwayne Johnson’s black adam and more DC movies directed by Zack Snyder.
Does Kevin Smith want Ben Affleck to be Superman?
With Superman’s role still ambiguous, many are already recommending alternatives, with Richard Madden, Michael B. Jordan and Jon Hamm being fan favorites. Controversial producer Kevin Smith also chimed in on the conversation in an interview with GQ. He said:
“…when I think of Superman, I think of Ben Affleck to be honest with you, but to be fair, most movie characters I think could be played by Ben Affleck”
He later backtracked on his statement and praised Henry Cavill for his role as Superman, noting that he appreciated Zack Snyder’s take on the character. But in the end, Christopher Reeves remains his favorite actor to play Kal-El. He stated:
“Henry Cavill as Superman [is] probably honestly the best looking Superman we’ve had so easy to watch… I think Henry is a wonderful actor, I think he did a great job in the role, absolutely wonderful…”

With Ben Affleck nearing the end of his run as the returning Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman is still unconfirmed, speculation is rife, with even Ben Affleck being suggested as the next Supes. Hope the issue will be resolved with The Tudors returning star as Clark Kent in black adam.
