With both Cinematic Universes beginning around 2010, the Marvel Cinematic Universe fared much better than the DC Extended Universe. The DCEU started with Zack Snyder’s Steel manwith Henry Cavill as Superman.

Other than Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and a handful of other productions, most other MCU releases received mixed to poor reception. She-Hulk: Lawyer and Thor: Love and Thunder were among the studio’s most controversial releases.

I really hate comparisons, but after seeing so many Marvel projects this year, Black Adam was such a breath of fresh air. This is what all comic book projects should aim for, be it humor, action, story. When DC is in their bag, they do wonders.

Having learned from their past mistakes, DC Comics seems to be moving in the right direction, allowing standalone movies to do their own thing, like Joker and The Batman were well received. But Marvel insists on sticking with the interconnect universe that seems to be working against it now.
