Daeron Targaryen, in the books, is the most beloved of the three Targaryen brothers. George Martin and Ryan Condal wrote him to be the Tommen of House of the Dragon, as he is kind and just one of King Viserys’ sons. So far in House of the Dragon, Viserys and Alicent have had three children namely Aegon II Targaryen (eldest), Aemond Targaryen (middle child) and Halaena Targaryen (third daughter). However, one character is missing, and that is Daeron Targaryen, the last child of King Viserys.
Here is something special; George RR Martin wrote on his content posting web page (must not call it a blog) specifically named “Not a Blog”, that House of the Dragons fans will see Daeron Targaryen onscreen. But how is it possible now that King Viseys is dead and can’t have any more children?
Let’s find out.
Daemon Targaryen isn’t the only thing Martin left out

George RR Martin
Daeron Targaryen isn’t the only person George Martin hasn’t focused on. For example, it is well known that Rhanyra’s sons, Jacaerys, Lucerys and Joffrey, are bastards of Ser Harwin Strong. However, House of the Dragon did not focus on the relationship between Rhaenyra and Harwin Strong. In the show, Harwin Strong is sent to Harrenhal so that no further scandals can occur between him and his daughter Rhaenyra. Harwin is now presumed dead when his brother, Larys, burned down Harrenhal along with their father, Lord Lyonel Strong. Additionally, Rhaenyra is now married to her uncle Daemon, who also lost his wife, Rhaena Royce, who died after falling from her horse.
However, the thing is, Martin didn’t actually leave out Daeron Targaryen, son of Viserys, after all. Its website revealed that House of the Dragon would show Daeron later.
Martin’s Big Reveal About Daeron Targaryen
Daeron Targaryen
According to the books, Daeron Targaryen was sent to Oldtown, the seat of the Hightowers, Daeron Targaryen’s mother. It was believed that since the youngest children did not inherit the throne, they were sent to a place of religion and faith. As Oldtown is the location of the Maester’s Citadel and the location of the Seven Gods of the Seven, Daeron was sent there.
Daeron Targaryen’s character build can be known by the fact that he grew up in Oldtown close to the faithful. He is described as kind and loving (kind and loving Targaryens exist? Who knew?) and was loved by people and his family. He is not a drunkard and a sex dog, unlike his brothers Aegon and Aemond. He takes part in all family conflicts, including the civil war, so we have a lot to do. Also, because he’s in Oldtown right now, he’s not shown in House of the Dragon yet. Daeron Targaryen will be shown later when the Civil War begins in House of the Dragon.
