The Marvel Cinematic Universe led by Kevin Feige is a juggernaut. But the magic of the MCU is fading as fans are unhappy with the latest Phase 4. But there’s a hidden card that can turn the tide for Marvel.
They need to bring back the directors who made their highest-grossing movie, Avengers: Endgame. It’s the Russo Brothers. But what do the filmmakers brothers think of a return to the franchise?
The Russo Brothers Comment on Marvel’s Return
Avengers: Endgame was a box office blast like no other. The film earned $1.2 billion in its opening weekend and reached $2.7 billion during its worldwide run. So the film’s directors, Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, were expected to sign on to do more MCU movies.
But that’s not the case at all. The duo are currently focused on their production house and making films for Netflix. But what about Marvel? In an interview with Variety, the Russo brothers shut down the MCU speculation. They said:
“We are still talking; we would need to see what would work. We won’t be ready to do anything with Marvel until the end of the decade.
What can the Russo Brothers work on next in the MCU?
By the end of the decade, there will be more notable entries to the pantheon of MCU characters. Teams like The Fantastic Four and The X-Men hopes to be established by then, and maybe the Russo Brothers can come and run a crossover of X-Men and the Avengers.
But the decade has just begun, and the MCU hasn’t even cast its Fantastic Four cast until now. So, the Russos’ dream of leading a massive MCU project again is just a fan dream.
