Is Chirrut ÃŽmwe the ideal Jedi even if he wasn’t a force wielder?

We’ve seen a ton of Jedis in Star Wars so far. From ex-Jedis who turned to darkness like Anakin to those who stuck to the light and the cause like Obi Wan Kenobi, Jedis came in all forms. And they were all awesome. But there is one character who is not a Jedi. Instead, he symbolizes everything a Jedi should be. This is Chirrut Ümwe. Why? Let’s explain.

Why Chirrut ÃŽmwe is the ideal Jedi

Chirrut ÃŽmwe was human, blind, and not Force-sensitive. But he firmly believed in it with the Jedi way. He thought the Force was everywhere and in everything. His devotion and spirituality helped him overcome the restrictions caused by his blindness. And as a result, he was able to forge himself into a mighty warrior.

A member of the Guardian of the Whills, Chirrut Ömwe’s Zama-shiwo prowess granted him supernatural abilities that allowed him to alter his oxygen intake and heart rate. He was also part of a rebel volunteer group and was responsible for stealing the plans for the first Death Star.

Chirrut ÃŽmwe died during the Battle of Scarif after helping Cassian Andor and Jyn Erso upon entering the Imperial Archives. His sacrifice ensured the success of the mission. Chirrut’s devotion to spirituality, discipline and training of body and mind completely helped him overcome his disability. It’s a remarkable skill that many Jedi in the prequels lack.

Was Chirrut ÃŽmwe a wielder of strength?

By all accounts, he couldn’t harness the Force, but he was so godly and disciplined that he was more susceptible to it. Several fan theories claim that he was close to being able to wield the Force. It allowed him to feel it even though he couldn’t use it. For example, he was probably able to sense Jyn’s Khyber crystals in the dense crowd of A thug because of this.

All this shows how hardworking he is. Even though he was blind and not Force-sensitive, he trained to reach his maximum potential. As a result, he became better than some born with the ability to wield the Force.
