A spin-off of one of the most popular action thrillers, John Wickis expected to go into production in the coming week and will star Knives out actress Ana de Armas.
The film franchise is already in full swing with the announcement of The Continentala prequel series to John Wick divided into three parts and ready to stream on Amazon Prime even outside the United States. And now Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer has given fans another reason to cheer after saying that BallerinaFilming will begin next week.

Ana de Armas will star in Ballerina
Ana de Armas is set to star in the upcoming John Wick spin off, Ballerina.
She starred in some of the most popular action movies, including Dennis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 249the 2021 james bond movie, No time to die, and The gray man which is run by the Russo brothers, to name a few.

The 34-year-old launched her career in the film industry working in a Cuban-Spanish romance drama in 2006 and has now become a successful actress in Hollywood. She recently starred as Norma Jeane in Andrew Dominick’s Blond which portrays a fictionalized version of the famous American actress, Marilyn Monroe.
De Armas is also known for participating in thriller films like the 2020 movie, The night clerk where she worked alongside Tye Sheridan and the Daniel Craig-directed mystery/crime film, Knives out. So with such a plethora of action and thriller films contributing to his experience, there’s no doubt that De Armas will do justice to his role in Ballerina.
Everything there is to know about the John Wick spin off, Ballerina
With the Total recall filmmaker, Lens Wiseman is set to direct the spin-off and Ana de Armas in the lead role, Ballerina will focus on the young assassin who appears in JOhn Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, whose training takes place in a ballet school. And the spin-off will tell a seductive and thrilling story about blood feud as De Armas’ character sets out to exact revenge on the culprits who were behind the murder of his family.

While Wiseman will direct the film, American screenwriter Shay Hatten, often widely recognized for his work on John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum as good as army of the dead, will write the screenplay. And like the deep waters star herself revealed in one of her interviews, Oscar-winning English actress and filmmaker Emerald Fennell provided some final touches to the script.
Besides that, no other information regarding the movie’s remaining cast or release date has yet been leaked.
