What inspired Henry Cavill to play Superman?

Henry Cavill failed his first Superman audition
After his appearance in the 2013 film, everyone was sure Cavill was the perfect actor to play Superman. However, Steel man was not the first Superman film the Argyle star was a partner.
During his interview with Deadline, Cavill also shared that he once lost the opportunity to play Man of Steel. He said, “So when the opportunity came up to audition, to test out the first Superman, what I didn’t get was something exciting.”
Cavill auditioned for McG’s abortion Superman film. Reports mention that he even continued to don a version of the iconic Superman costume. He auditioned for the movie, but unfortunately he didn’t get the part.
The film was later cancelled. Henry Cavill then auditioned for the 2013 Steel man and got the role. The mountain dweller star will reprise his role as Superman in Man of steel 2.
