Fans lost their minds when they saw this iconic red and yellow symbol emerging from the smoke, if you know you know. But now he’s back, looking just as good as ever. It’s unclear how involved Cavill will be in the DC Movie Universe if he makes more cameos or how many solo films he makes. But we’re excited to see him appear in the red and blue tights anyway. But the big question now is which villains will he face in his films? So far, we’ve seen Lex Luthor (far too many times), General Zod, Doomsday, and Darkseid, which aren’t even a quarter of the wide array of villains the Man of Steel could face. For this list, we’ll be looking at ten Superman villains we want Henry Cavill to fight with.

Parasite
While a few have become Parasite throughout the comics, the version most fans know him best for is Rudy Jones. Jones first appeared in comic book pages in April 1987 in Fire storm #58. His popularity grew as he began appearing in DC Animation with superman the animated series and Justice Leaguebut again with Batman/Superman: Public Enemies and Superman: the man of tomorrow. After an accident involving purple chemicals, Parasite became one of Superman’s most dangerous enemies as a literal Parasite capable of absorbing the energy and abilities of any living being with just a touch. Take DC’s most powerful beings and pit them against someone who could easily take that power.
Live Cable
An explosive character who was created by Evan Dorkin, Sarah Dyer and Bruce Timm for Superman The Animated Series as a completely new and original character. Leslie Willis was a popular and controversial radio host, who suffered an electrical accident during one of her concerts that granted her electrical abilities and allowed her to adapt her energy into a power strong enough to injure even Superman. Livewire has since had minor appearances in other media such as Smallville and super girl. But we think this powerhouse could be the perfect conduit for a live appearance on the big screen.
Steelworker
Most recognizable as John Corben, Metallo is probably one of Superman’s most formidable foes in his red gallery. Although there are many iterations of how Corben became Metallo, he is mostly remembered for being a con man who was involved in an accident and then experiments that turned him into a cybernetic killing machine with a large piece of kryptonite as the heart and source of sound. Strength and power. A character who has only been on the small screen of Smallville and the Arrowverse, but is deserving enough to finally make its big screen debut. Let’s take a movie Superman vs. Cyborgs, Superman vs. Metallo, and Cyborg Superman.

Speaking of cyborgs, one of the pivotal characters in the Death of Superman storyline and yet we only saw him make appearances in CW super girl and the animated movie Regin of supermen. And as cool as Hank Henshaw’s arc is in the comics, I think the Zor-El story that’s told in The new 52 would best suit the future of DC Studios. Telling Zor-El’s story in future DC movies could lead to the introduction of Brainiac as DC’s next massive superhero villain. As mentioned earlier, a team up between Cyborg Superman and Metallo can put Superman to the ultimate test and also create some of the coolest action sequences in DC movies.
Weird
Recently, Bizarro received much-needed and beloved portrayal on the show Superman and Lois, his appearance was well received by the public, which only makes sense to give us more Bizarro. First appearance in 1958 super boy #68, Bizarro is a bastard mirror image of Superman. While Cavill and DC want to bring a much more compassionate and cheerful Superman to the big screen, Bizarro is the perfect way to achieve that in a feature film. As a character sometimes seen as a confused or misunderstood man with a childlike mentality, he could present himself as a new side to Cavill’s Superman that we haven’t seen yet. Humanize the Man of Steel with a creature misunderstood but still as powerful as him.
Mr. Mxyzptlk
One of Superman’s oldest villains first appeared in 1944 Superman #30. If you really want to change Cavill’s Superman vibe, Mr. Mxyzptlk is also another great way to go. A trickster from another dimension can alter reality and can only be beaten by making him say his name backwards. This could create a movie that leans too far into the campy side of Superman, he’s still a villain that could pave the way for what DC is trying to do with the Man of Tomorrow. Imagine, a Superman movie with the over-the-top visuals and mayhem of a Doctor Strange movie.

Bruno Mannheim
A character who would come across as more of a secondary villain, but is very much needed at this point in DC movies. Bruno Manheim is a crime boss within Intergang, which was previously established in 2022 black adam film. Manheim could easily be an introductory villain for Cavill’s next outing, a foe who could easily set the film’s tone early on. However, given that we could soon see Cavill’s Superman and Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam face off very soon, perhaps they could find a common enemy in Bruno Manheim and his control over Intergang. Though Intergang isn’t a problem anymore after what Black Adam did to them.
Lobo
The Main Man has more recently become a character that straddles the line of being good or bad, an interesting dynamic that could be showcased for the new Superman. This Tsarian bounty hunter has gained enough popularity that it’s finally time to see him on the big screen. Especially after receiving positive reactions from her live appearance on the show. Krypton. A movie with Lobo might even introduce a story that pits him against Superman when he comes to Metropolis to try to hunt someone who might be innocent, but later turns out not to be so innocent and forces Superman and Lobo to team up for a final battle.
The elite
Manchester Black and the Elite haven’t been featured much in media other than an animated film titled Superman vs. the Elite. However, it’s the perfect combination for a new Superman movie. Introduce a character unknown to the general public and create a narrative of the iconic action comics #775 which brought Superman’s values and standards to the forefront of the story. Create some of Superman’s best quotes, like “Dreams save us. Dreams uplift and transform us. And on my soul, I swear that until my dream of a world where dignity, honor and justice becomes the reality we all share, I will never stop fighting. Already!”.

Rogol Zaar
A new character added to Superman’s Reds Gallery who first appeared in Action comic #1000. A deadly new adversary bent on eliminating the Kryptonian species, it was revealed in the comics that Zaar is responsible for Krypton’s destruction and even broke into the Fortress of Solitude to destroy the city of Kandor. Rogol Zaar would be another character the general public may not yet be fully familiar with, which would be great for a new reboot of Henry Cavill and Superman’s new journey through the DC Universe.
