Tom Cruise has been a top performer for over 30 years, and it seems the pace he picked up back then hasn’t slowed down at all. Top Gun: Maverick is an example of how you revive an old cult classic and make a successful sequel, but who would have watched it if Cruise wasn’t in it?
This is precisely why Tom Cruise is still relevant after all these years, he works day in and day out in every role he gets. But as hardworking of a man as the Superior gun star is, all that fame and reputation doesn’t seem to have translated well to his relationships with his co-workers, and Brad Pitt seems to be one of those people who doesn’t like him at all.

Brad Pitt is the last person to hate Tom Cruise
Few (of this generation) may remember The crying game director Neil Jordan’s period horror film titled Interview with the Vampire. However, the movie, released in 1994, has a cast of Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Antonio Banderas, and even Kirsten Dunst in the movie!
Interview with the Vampire was a commercial success, earning $223.7 at the box office, which was a huge profit compared to the $60 million budget he received for the film. It might seem like the star actors had to like each other a lot to make it all work, but that wasn’t the case for the two lead actors.
Tom Cruise played Lestat de Lioncourt, while Brad Pitt was cast as Louis de Pointe du Lac. It can simply be said that the two did not see each other after the whole filming process of the film was completed.

Pitt shared his experience working alongside the Impossible mission star saying-
“He (Tom Cruise) bugged me. There came a point during filming where I started to really resent him. He’s at the North Pole, I’m at the South. He always comes to you with a handshake, when I can pass you.
As many other co-actors have complained before, Cruise isn’t the most pleasant of actors to work with in the movie industry. Westworld star Thandie Newton described being “afraid” of the actor.
Anyway, Pitt continued his comments, adding that Cruise was in a competition to improve him-
“There was this underlying competition that got in the way of any real conversation.”
They still haven’t patched it up to this day, it seems, as they haven’t worked together on the same set since. Interview with the Vampire.

The bitter story between Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt that continued
It seems Brad Pitt still wasn’t over the trouble his co-star in Interview with the Vampire had given to him during his filming.
Back in the days of Tom Cruise’s historic war thriller Valkyrie, based on an assassination attempt on Hitler by his own officers, released in 2008, Pitt described it as a “ridiculous movie”. However, his reps have denied the 58-year-old ever said that.
Tom Cruise has always played movies where he likes to play the main role, rarely accepting those where he plays a supporting character (like in Thunder in the tropics). B when the time came for another thriller that required Cruise’s face, he was ironically replaced by Pitt’s partner (fiancée) Angelina Jolie, in the lead role!

Salt was originally intended to cast Cruise as Edwin Salt in the spy thriller. However, things took a crazy turn when production on the film began, as they instead opted to cast Jolie in the lead role by rewriting the character as a female!
As you might have guessed, Cruise wasn’t too happy with the decision to be pushed aside by someone who was so close to someone he once had a feud with.
Interview with the Vampire is currently available for viewing on Amazon Prime.
