Andy Taylor was an original member of the band Duran Duran
Stephen Duffy on vocals, Nick Rhodes on keyboards and John Taylor on drums were the original members of the group Duran Duran, formed in 1978 in Birmingham.
After that, in the same year, the band member added Roger Taylor. You are not mistaken here; Andy and Roger Taylor are not related to each other. There were various changes during the band’s inception until 1980, when singer Simon Le Bon joined the band.
In 1981, the group introduced themselves to the world by performing their first hit song, “Girls on Film”, on MTV. The band’s popularity generated controversy from the release of their self-titled debut album, “Duran Duran”.
Their popularity skyrocketed after the release of their second studio album, Rio (1982), which debuted at no. 6 in the United States of America, no. 2 in the UK, and no. 1 in Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Andy left the band in 1986 to record his own solo material, and the band’s progress through the 1980s and 1990s did not go as planned. Likewise, the band had back-to-back singles, Seven and the Ragged Tiger, which both topped No. 1 in the UK.
In 1997, when John Taylor left the group, several of their albums experienced disappointing sales.
In 2001, Duran Duran held a full reunion of their original band members, and they even held a show to let their fans know they were back. In 2004, the reunited group cooperated and produced the album “Astronaut”, which became their most successful record to date.
The majority of Duran Duran’s singles have reached positions in the top 10 of the UK Singles Chart and up to the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. Duran Duran has effectively established themselves as the richest music group selling over 100 million copies.
In the same vein, not only did their success continue to chart on the Billboard and UK Music Charts, but the group was also honored with two Grammy Awards, multiple Lifetime Achievement – MTV VMA Awards and the Brit Awards (2004).

It was the year 1985, and Duran Duran was taking a sabbatical at the time; Andy and his friend John Taylor, who played bass, teamed up with Tony Thompson and Robert Palmer to form Power Station.

After leaving Duran Duran, Andy is currently living a happy life with his wife Tracey at their hotel in Ibiza, which also has a recording studio.
Additionally, the couple have four children together; their names are Bethany, Isabel, Andrew James and Georgina.
Members of Andy Taylor’s band recently revealed that he had been battling stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer for four years.
His condition is described as incurable but not fatal by his treating physicians.
