Thor Odinson, the God of Thunder, has been quite a notable name in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character played by Chris Hemsworth has had a long journey so far, starting with the franchise’s first film Thor (2011) by appearing in installments of the Avengers franchise until what appears to be the final installment of the Thor films, Thor: Love and Thunder (2022).
The release of Thor: Love and Thunder appear to be the end of the Thor franchise as the story draws to a close, giving no opportunity for a fifth Thor movie. However, artist Albin George has taken the liberty of designing a fan art poster of Thor 5, featuring popular star Chris Hemsworth reprising his role which features a dark Thor.
What could the new Thor 5 be about?
The Thor discussion seemed to pick up again after a certain artist showed off his skills in preparing fan art for Thor 5, namely Thor: Tales of Midgard. It features Chris Hemsworth with a grim expression, brandishing his weapon, Stormbreaker. The fan art does a wonderful job of emphasizing the darkness of the Norse god we could see in Avengers: Infinity War.

As he shows, the possibility of the continuation of the Thor franchise could bring out the sinister and savage personality of Thor, who many believe would fare better than his comic persona portrayed in Thor: Love and Thunder. While the plot did well in finishing the chapter on the Lonely God and reuniting him with his human lover, Jane Foster, the film alone failed to live up to the hype created by fans.

Fan reaction to fan art
The depiction of Thor in Avengers: infinity war, although aggressive, he was well-liked by the fans. His grief-fueled anger highlighted the character’s cruelty. Meanwhile, his character in Thor: Love and Thunder as a comic God of Thunder failed to meet the expectations of fans of the franchise.
This should have been the thor we got. He’s got a kid moving on unless she dies I doubt he’ll ever be that again

That’s what Marvel should be doing. Have a variety of tones that match each character. Thor should be more serious I think, and other characters can be more lighthearted like obviously Spider-Man

To be honest I totally agree with you we need a serious Thor not a comedy 👈 and we also need a new director for the next Thor movie 🙏 it just can’t be Taika waititi but i really appreciate what he did but i think we want someone else to direct the next thor movie pic.twitter.com/eoZtx0CnHv

Rumor has it Taika is leaving the Thor franchise for good.
Ragnarok was okay but Love and Thunder made me think Taika is no good for Marvel. That too for a film of God.— Arpit Patel (@ArpitNahiMila) November 10, 2022
We need more knowledge. The comic relief should be strategically placed, not every 3 lines

Whether it’s another sequel to the franchise or an appearance in the next phase of the MCU, it’s no surprise fans are hoping to see a glimpse of the dark Thor once again.
