A tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman couldn’t get any better
The 2018 Black Panther garnered huge praise from the audience as well as criticism for several factors. Ryan Coogler’s directorial starring Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan was a nice extravaganza in itself. But everyone was shocked when suddenly in 2020, Boseman passed away battling colon cancer, leaving a huge void in the industry.
As everyone began to think about King T’Challa’s future, Kevin Feige’s Fortress announced that they would not be recasting the character but would be passing the torch to another. This presented the 2022 film as a journey after the death of King Wakandan. And it looks like the studio has done very well in a number of ways.

Presenting itself as an emotional roller coaster, from the first moment the film takes a very unconventional path generally avoided by other MCU projects. The Marvel Studios logo showing various images of Chadwick Boseman instead of the MCU superheroes kicked off a string of footage throughout the film that is enough to bring a grown man to tears. The film not only passes off the death as mere information, but also shows the emotional effect it had on the citizens and royal family of Wakanda.
There are various moments throughout the film that manage to show how characters like Letitia Wright’s Shuri and Angela Bassett’s Ramonda are marked. As they are devastated by the loss, they also had to stay strong for the good of the nation. Even the film’s ending which shows Shuri crying while remembering her brother makes our eyes water with a nice flashback sequence of Boseman’s journey through the MCU. Moments of silence chosen as the background sound for various moments of emotion succeed in showing the excellence of the creators.

We can well conclude that fans are overwhelmed by the MCU’s special tribute to Chadwick Boseman in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Surprisingly, the film’s ending also reveals King T’Challa and Nakia’s son Toussaint being kept out of the politics and royal drama of Wakanda. But we have to wait a lot until the character assumes the role of protector and ruler of Wakanda. Until then, Letitia Wright’s character is the successor to the Black Panther costume after Boseman.
