Dominique Thorne, the actress who plays the superhero character Ironheart in Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, revealed that the film failed to show the true essence of her character and claimed that fans will see the real version of Ironheart in her upcoming Disney+ series.
Although his role in black panther 2 marked the debut of Riri Williams, Dominique Thorne admitted that was just the tip of the iceberg and that her new series based on the armored superhero will do the character justice and portray Ironheart in a much more elaborate and precise.

Dominique Thorne says black panther 2 only showed a hint of Ironheart
Dominique Thorne made her Marvel superhero debut in the The sequel to Black Panther which was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Ryan Coogler.
Although the film did a commendable job portraying his character, the Judas and the Black Messiah the actress explained how the film does not feature “a side” of who Riri Williams really is.

“The film does such a good job of showcasing a slice, a facet of who she is. We get a little taste of the colors that exist in her – we see her as a hustler; we see her as a bit of a bully; we see her fearful; we see it in all these different lights. But above all, she is in a world of confusion. She’s out of her element, completely opposite of her comfort zone, so the Riri we see is a bit of a fight or flight [mode].”
And that makes perfect sense because, in the end, black panther 2 isn’t about Riri Williams and a storyline primarily invested in her superhero persona will obviously produce a more engrossing display of Ironheart, which the Disney+ series of the same name will soon fill.
Ironheart’s character will be seen more clearly in his Disney+ series
Thorne is set to star in the superhero series named Stone heart as part of Marvel Phase 5 and while no release date has yet been announced, the show’s first season is set to premiere on Disney+ sometime in the latter part of 2023.
The If Beale Street Could Talk The star teased fans with the prospect of seeing the true side of Riri Williams and a closer, more personal look at her life at Ironheart as she highlighted the part about her character being “out of his element” in black panther 2.

“It’s a great place for audiences because by the time they get to ‘Ironheart,’ they have the chance to immerse themselves in who she really is, without the war of the worlds. [between the kingdoms of Wakanda and Talokan] background. We see who she is day to day, but we also get a little better understanding of the genius that put her in this situation in the first place.
Sure, fans got to see a glimpse of Riri Williams, but they’ll soon be able to appreciate the character in her own element of the series that will explicitly focus on her life.
Stone heart is slated for release in fall 2023.
