You would think that for someone with a title as imperative as that of editor of a film, one would be aware of all the shots and scenes, especially the most crucial ones. But apparently that was not the case with the black adam editor Mike Sale, as he recently confirmed that he had no idea about Henry Cavill’s return to the DC Universe as Superman until rumors started circulating all over the internet on various platforms of social media.
Surprising as it may seem, the editor of DC’s latest superhero movie revealed that he was unaware of the details of Henry Cavill’s Clark Kent return to the DCU, let alone his appearance in the end credits scenes of black adam. But once he realized the rumors were indeed true, he was just as jubilant as the fans were at the time.

Black Adam’The Editor Wasn’t Aware of Henry Cavill’s Return as Superman
Michael L. Sale, also known as Mike Sale, the editor of Jaume Collet-Serra black adam recently spoke about the film in an interview with under the linewhen he revealed he was in the dark regarding Henry Cavill’s return to the superhero franchise as the Man of Steel.
“I learned a lot about it, probably at the same time people on the internet were learning about it. I didn’t know – it was something that was shot very late in the process and it was very secret.
Sale explained that he was unaware of Cavill’s return in advance and only heard about it through the plethora of rumors circulating at the time. In fact, he didn’t even know about the British actor’s cameo in black adamThe post-credits scenes until Dwayne Johnson wrapped up the lead and introduced him to it.

“All of a sudden I heard we had a test. I was like, yeah, we have a couple. We had a couple of different things on final credit. It was just one of them, but it was the one I know that Dwayne and Beau were very passionate about getting him on board.
One would expect Sale to feel betrayed or at least a little offended for leaving out such an important detail. However, the Bridesmaids the editor instead took it all in stride by noting that he was happy with the “incredible choice” to reintroduce Cavill through a cameo in Black Adam.
“I thought it was an amazing choice. I also liked the franchise and I love Henry. I’m a big Superman guy.
While he’s sorry about the leaks about Superman’s cameo in the Dwayne Johnson-led movie that spoiled the scene, Sale was still thrilled at the prospect of the Enola Holmes star returns to the big screens as part of the DCU.
Mike Sale is a big Superman fan
If you thought you were excited about Cavill’s return as Superman, imagine the state of the editor working on a movie that literally had the actor in it.
When Sale learned of the existence of the dawn of justice the role of the star in the end credits scenes of black adamhe was thrilled, to say the least, and remembers thinking about how it was”something quite intense” happen to him.
“For me, when I saw the dailies, personally, I had a moment where I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m working on a movie that’s going to have Superman in it.'”

As a child, Sale grew up watching the iconic Batman and Superman films and had taken a liking to these superheroes ever since. He explained how when the Superman the film was released in 1978, he was a teenager who worked in cinemas, “clean them”. So being able to work on a movie starring his favorite superhero was definitely a huge feat for him.
“It’s a long way to clean these movie theaters [playing] Superman. I’m like, ‘wow, that’s a pretty intense thing that happened to me,’ personally.”
In addition to working as an editor on black adam, Mike Sale is also renowned for his work on the 2013 comedy film, We are the Millersand red notice, the action movie starring Gal Gadot, The Rock and Ryan Reynolds.
Sale had also edited a few other Johnson-directed films before, including Central Intelligence and Skyscraper but black adam being his very first comic book movie, brought him considerable recognition and a unique experience.
