The Marvel Cinematic Universe will eventually feature its own X-Men characters, separate from Fox’s x-men universe. Many have assumed the x-men will enter the MCU by Wanda Vision Where Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, although that remains to be seen.
What we do know is that the MCU wouldn’t exist without the first one. x-men film, as well as its sequels and prequels. Of course, these films have been met with varying degrees of enthusiasm. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender back in the MCU for X-Men
Avengers: Secret Wars is shaping up to be a multiverse epic on par with Endgame of the Avengers. According to new speculation, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender will resume their x-men roles of Magneto and Professor X in the MCU.
Following Fox’s merger with Disney, Marvel Studios acquired the rights to the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and dead Pool. Fans were thrilled when Mr. Patrick Stuart appears in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as Earth-838’s variety of Professor X, and now it appears he will not be seen again as 82-year-old Xavier was once again killed in Strange doctor 2.
Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, has been pretty tight-lipped about the studio’s plans for the X-Men. The debut of the X-MCU Men, on the other hand, is absolutely in the works and has been confirmed to happen in the near future. Indeed, some indicators point to the reintroduction already beginning with the introductions of mutants into the MCU like Ms. Marvel and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen Won’t Lead the X-Men in the MCU
It’s worth noting that while the MCU has successfully brought several Marvel products to the big screen, it’s never had to rely on earlier releases from Sony or 20th Century Fox. For instance, Spider-Man: No Coming Home included earlier iterations by Peter Parker without overshadowing Tom Holland’s star performance.
However, giving Patrick Stewart’s Professor X an MCU debut could potentially stifle the franchise’s growth. Stewart has portrayed the same Marvel superhero since 2000, making him the longest-serving actor to do so.
Another potential stumbling block here is the age gap between Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and one that may be featured in a future X-Men MCU relaunch. Patrick Stewart, 82, and Ian McKellen, 83, will most certainly be much older than whoever portrays the future Charles Xavier, and while multiverse age differences aren’t a new notion, the first x-men appearances in the MCU will most likely be early in their stories.

Even with the possibility of remaking the Multiverse, as incredible as it is to see Patrick Stewart as Professor X and Ian McKellen as Magneto back on screen, the consistency issues it generates are concerning. Since the MCU plans to set the x-men for a long period of time.
However, it’s possible that all four actors will reprise their roles as their respective characters in the upcoming Marvel movie, Avengers: Secret Wars. Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Secret Wars will arrive in theaters on May 1, 2026.
