Madolyn Smith was born on January 1, 1957 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. Little or nothing is known of her childhood or early education, until she enrolled at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.

Career
Smith was 23 at the time of her first leading role, in “Urban Cowboy,” a 1980 John Travolta western drama in which she played Pam, a romantic interest of Travolta’s character, Bud. She then co-starred in several films from that era, including 1984’s “All of Me” and “2010,” a sequel to “2001: A Space Odyssey” from the same year.
She has also appeared in several television films, including “Rehearsal for Murder”, “Pray TV”, and “Deadly Intentions”. She also portrayed several real people, including Jehan Al Sadat, wife of Anwar Al Sadat, former Egyptian President, in the 1983 “Sadate” miniseries, and Ernie Kovacs’ troubled wife Dorothy in the TV movie “Ernie Kovacs: Between the Laughter” aired the following year. She made a brief appearance as The Girl in “The Caller” in 1987.
The role Smith is best known for is Tracy Whitney, a star of the 1986 television miniseries, “If Tomorrow Comes,” based on the novel of the same name written by Sidney Sheldon.
