Shortly after the release of John Wick: Chapter 3, studio Lionsgate has announced the next film in the franchise. With the trailer of John Wick: Chapter 4 finally released, fans got their first taste of what the film could be. Director of the upcoming movie, Chad Stahelski talked about Chapter 4 in his interview with Collider. While talking about the fourth film, the director also touched on the future of the franchise and what sets it apart from previous films in the franchise.
The stuntman-turned-filmmaker also talks about new characters joining the film and its plot. The action-packed trailer ranges from katana duels to car chases, making it the biggest film in the franchise. The director also explains why it might be the franchise’s longest-running film to date.

Chad Stahelski Says John Wick’s Runtime Still Not Fully Determined
While talking to Collier about the upcoming action-thriller sequel, Chad Stahelski discussed the film’s runtime. He hinted that it would be the longest film in the franchise, but did not provide an exact length for the film.
“It has the longest runtime of any movie. Hopefully it won’t be the longest of any movie. said Stahelsky. The American filmmaker also shared that he knows a certain type of pacing is needed for action movies.Luckily we have a bit of headroom because we have a bit of world-building with the John Wick action,” he said.
Chad Stahelski also mentioned that he’s watched the film nearly 100 times and isn’t bored with its length. The filmmaker said at no time that he wanted, “End this thing already. I can’t watch it anymore.
He also says he watched it almost every week with Keanu Reeves and a small group. “Let’s watch it one more time to make sure we’re not getting into something,“says the director of John Wick.
The stuntman-turned-filmmaker said they always expected more and that’s why they wrote a third more scenes than the previous film. He mentioned that the film is still in post-production and the duration is not fully determined.

What could be the runtime for John Wick 4?
Chad Stahelski shared that the runtime of Wick jeans 4 is still not determined. He said he couldn’t share what it might be because he hadn’t shared the information with the studio yet. Stahelski also pointed out that if people have good stamina, they will definitely appreciate it.
He shared his experience of watching the movie saying, “But I’m not looking at my watch in there. So I feel pretty good where it’s going. When asked if it was close to 2 1/2 or so, he said it would be in that area.
The filmmaker shared that the entire runtime is determined from the first logo to the end credits, and he has no idea how that would increase his runtime. “I know what it’s about. I don’t know the full runtime because I don’t know the credit scroll and all the other things that come in,” Stahelski shared.
However, he said that Wick jeans 4 will exceed the 2 hour mark. The director also shared that they are working on the film’s final title, which may well fit its theme.
John Wick: Chapter 4 is set to release on March 24, 2023.
