Phase 4 of the MCU is over and die-hard fans are already looking forward to the next one. After all, everyone agrees that Phase 5 is going to deal with something that this phase has only scratched the surface of – the multiverse. And the biggest proof of that is that Hugh Jackman is returning as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. And now there’s a rumor that Dafne Keen is also entering the Marvel Universe!
Dafne Keen would have taken over the role of Logan
According to scooper Grace Randolph, Dafne Keen, who played X-23 in the 2017 movie Logan, will be reprising her role in the MCU. This rumor follows Ryan Reynolds announces that Hugh Jackman is reprising his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3.
In Logan, Dafne Keen played Logan’s daughter or more specifically, his X-23 clone. She was created using his DNA. But she was to be eliminated after the corporation in charge succeeded in creating X-24, an adult clone of Logan who obeyed their orders and was loyal to them. The nurse, Gabriela, helped Laura escape and find Logan. In the end, Logan dies saving Laura. His last words to her are that she shouldn’t become what they made her to be (an emotionless fighting machine to do other people’s bidding).
If the rumor is true, it would be interesting to see Laura maybe meet another version of Logan, and maybe bond with him again. It would also give us an update on what’s going on with Laura. But most importantly, it would give fans the happy ending they wanted to see with Logan staying alive and being there for Laura.
How will Laura or X-23 enter the MCU?
Rumors have long swirled that Deadpool 3 will deal with Wade Wilson move around the Foxverse Marvel movies to finally reach the MCU. And in how he’ll team up with Jackman’s Wolverine for what’s supposed to be a self-aware buddy cop movie. After all, Deadpool has a penchant for breaking the 4th wall. As such, it’s no stretch to imagine that they might also encounter Dafne Keen’s X-23 along the way.
Interestingly, according to Grace Randolph, Kevin Feige would be interested in saying goodbye to the Foxverse X-Men before ushering in the MCU versions. As such, it makes sense that through Dead Pool 3 and other projects he will try to do before bringing in other actors to fill those roles.
As for who will play Wolverine in the MCU, that has yet to be decided. But Daniel Radcliffe, a popular fancast for the role has already dismissed all speculation of him joining the MCU as mere baseless rumors.
Deadpool 3 is supposed to start production in early 2023, even as early as January 2023. And then we might have more plot leaks and rumors. But until then, that’s just speculation.
What do you think of Dafne Keen potentially joining the MCU? Let us know.
