The DC fandom has been celebrating since it was announced that Henry Cavill is return as Superman and that a new Superman movie is in the works. But along with the joyous celebrations, there are also unanswered questions. The main question is will Amy Adams return as Lois Lane? And now we finally have an answer from the actress herself.
Amy Adams Responds If Her Lois Lane Will Join Cavill’s Superman
During an interview with Variety at the premiere of her movie Disenchanted, Amy Adams was asked about Henry Cavillis back as Superman. She said excitedly:
“Isn’t that exciting?” I think I heard about it from my husband (Darren Le Gallo). I’m happy for [Cavill]. He’s such a wonderful Superman that I’m very excited for him.
When asked if she would return as Lois Lane in the new DCU, she replied:
“They didn’t tell me about it. If it’s me, great. If it’s anyone else, the role of Lois has been filled by so many wonderful actresses in the past, so I’ll support whatever direction they take.
Will Lois Lane be included in the new Superman movie?
When we saw Cavill in the Black Adam mid-credits scene, he was wearing the same costume and emblem he had during Man of Steel. So we really feel like he’s the same Superman we’ve seen in Zack Snyder’s DC movies. As such, if a Superman movie is made, it’s logical to assume for now that Lois Lane will be a part of it.
And since Lois was played by Amy Adams, so ideally she should be in the movie as well. Even though Adams hasn’t been contacted by superiors yet, that’s no reason to believe he won’t be asked to reprise the role later.
After all, development on the new Superman movie is still in its early stages, with some reports indicating that there isn’t even a writer attached. So there is no reason to believe that she will not return.
Stay tuned for more breaking news!
