David Harbor became something of an internet sensation at this time. in the spotlight after the release of the hit Netflix series strange things, he steadily climbed to the top of the film industry. With its last sighting in 2020 Black Widow as the Red Guardian it was part of one of the most successful films of the Covid-19 era, and now we have confirmation that we will see the Red Guardian again in the next Love at first sight film. This means that his adventure to the top has just begun.
But what most might not know is the fact that the Red Guardian role means more to Harbor than just another super hit on his resume.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the star revealed that the role of the superhero in the MCU was also a way for him to cleanse his conscience and his palace of his past failures, which happen to be those of 2019. Hellboy to restart.
Red Guardian helped David Harbor clean up his palace
David Harbor burst onto the scene with Netflix strange things, which became one of the biggest hits of the decade, as almost everyone who watched the series fell in love with it instantly. This paved the way for the star, who was lined with expectations of greatness and success from her fans. But his first major solo outing in the film industry ended in failure. 2019 Hellboy the reboot failed at the Box Office with a measly 17% on Rotten Tomatoes and became Harbour’s first major failure rather than the other way around as previously thought.

But just a year later, during the harshest phase of the Covid-19 pandemic, came Marvel Studios Black Widow, which unsurprisingly became one of the most successful movies of this year in release on the Disney+ OTT platform. It was here that we saw Harbor don the red costume of the Red Guardian, which was the contemporary Russian version of Captain America. With this role leading to success, Harbor finally felt he had the palace cleansed of his past failure. In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, he said:
“Yeah, absolutely [Red Guardian served as a palate cleanser]. I mean, I don’t know if your palate is really cleansed. Life is a series of failures and successes, both of which stay with you, but failures, primarily, lodge deep in your heart and stay there forever. So [he] cleaned as much of my palate as possible.
With that assurance in his heart, he decided to take all the necessary information he can and add to his wisdom from his past failure, and become better with the Red Guardian in the next. Love at first sight.

What to expect from the Thunderbolts?
We will finally see the return of the Red Guardian in the next Love at first sight film alongside Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova and a few other familiar faces. The main reason for this crew will be to become the next guardians of the planet after the end of the Avengers team, but with a twist. And that team will be led by none other than Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, hence the name. We wish David Harbor the best of luck in his future adventures in the MCU.
