‘It’s beyond difficult’: Sylvester Stallone may not return for Tulsa King season 2 despite critical acclaim, wonders how actors stay engaged for multiple seasons

Sylvester Stallone was a total legend and he still continues to entertain us to the fullest. Movie franchises like Creed, Rambo, and The Expendables showed us that he still has it! On top of that, he continues to star in James Gunn’s superhero movies and continues to impress us. But very recently, he also appeared in a Paramount+ series titled king of tulsa.

Sylvester Stallone is the King of Tulsa

Stallone plays New York mob capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi who is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma after being released from prison 25 years later. And again, he begins to set up a new empire and works his way to the top to become the King of Tulsa, hence the title of the series. The series should have 10 episodes.

So far with its two episodes, king of tulsa received great critical acclaim. Its Rotten Tomatoes score is a total of 74%, and the IMDb rating stands at 8.4. But still, those expecting to see a second season might be disappointed as Sly Stallone doesn’t really want to return. He found it quite difficult to wrap up a season itself.

In a recent interview with Variety, Stallone has revealed he won’t be returning for a second season. He said:

It is more than difficult. I can’t believe some people did that for four, five or six seasons. It’s brutal, compared to the cinema. I will never again say “It’s a difficult shoot” on a feature film. It’s a holiday compared to that! It’s really… Can they shoot it at my house in Palm Beach? It would be good. I spoke to my wife about it. If she comes with the kids to the set to visit, maybe. But it’s a big decision, really.

Well, it’s actually good if this show only turns out to be a limited series. He will have given us something great towards the end of his great long career.

After that, Stallone could still go on to have a bright future in superhero movies. His 2022 has been pretty good as he starred in Prime Video’s Superhero movie, Samaritan before king of tulsa. And 2023 will bring us Consumables 4. But before that, Sly should also appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 like Starhawk. And with James Gunn at the helm of DC Studios, we should expect to hear his voice as stud boy King Shark, especially when he himself is interested in returning.

king of tulsa is currently streaming on Paramount+, with a new episode releasing every Sunday.
