Avatar director James Cameron reveals that his most successful works are the products of his dreams. The 62-year-old veteran filmmaker says he uses his vivid dreams as inspiration. He produced many popular and award-winning films in Hollywood during his career.
In 2009, Cameron Avatar took the world by storm and grossed $2.7 billion, the highest-grossing film of all time. Many would call him the father of modern action movies, as evidenced by his other well-known projects such as The Terminator, aliensand Titanic. Disney will be released soon Avatar: The Way of the Waterand it will be the director’s first feature film in 13 years.

James Cameron Reveals He Came Up With The Idea For Avatar In His Sleep
Asked about his source of ideas, Cameron reveals to QG:
“I have my own private streaming service which is better than any crap out there. And it runs every night for free.”
The director sometimes woke up from a nightmare and thought how good it was to have been able to make a film of it. Avatar came out of his own country of sleep.
“I woke up having dreamed about this kind of bioluminescent forest with these trees that look a bit like fiber optic lamps and this river that was glowing with bioluminescent particles and some kind of purple moss on the ground that lit up when you walked above. And those kinds of lizards that didn’t look like much until they took off. And then they turned into these spinning fans, kind of like living Frisbees, and they’re going down and landing on something. It was all in the dream. I woke up super excited and drew it.”
Cameron claimed he was working on the franchise despite the numerous delays. From meeting the cast to writing the screenplay, he did it all in three years.
Zoe Saldaña, one of the main actors of Avatar: The Way of the Water, confessed that she finds Cameron’s cinematic approach unique. Marvel movies are usually based on comic books, while the filmmaker’s vision is based on a one-man dream.

Avatar: The Way of the Water involves a very diverse combination of visual effects, lighting layers and real underwater scenes. Cameron says:It’s not animation in Pixar’s sense where they just make stuff up.” The director said that the actors do all the movements, which will be translated from the captured data to the 3D-CG character.
Avatar: The Way of the Water will arrive in theaters on December 16, 2022.
