Ben Affleck is an American actor and filmmaker, best known for his portrayal of Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The actor and filmmaker’s future as the Caped Crusader is uncertain, however, as the actor has set up a production company with Matt Damon. The role of Batman was recently played by Robert Pattinson in the 2022 film The Batman.
Affleck, however, would still appear in the flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom reprising his role as Batman. These films could possibly mark the end of Batfleck in the DC Universe.

Ben Affleck would be done with his role as Batman
Ben Affleck, who played Batman in the DC Universe films between the years 2016-2019, may soon retire from the character of Bruce Wayne after starting a production company with close friend Matt Damon. Affleck appeared in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League because the Caped Crusader also made an appearance in Suicide Squad.
Although he starred in several films, the actor never had a standalone movie as Batman. While Batfleck had a lot more potential than we could see, we never got the best version of his portrayal due to some overall messy writing, directing, and delivery in many films in which he appeared.
While Affleck relished his experience playing the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, yet it was Justice League who convinced the missing girl actor to decide to stop playing the character.
“It was really Justice League that was the nadir for me”, recalled Affleck, who retired as Batman in 2019.
“It was a bad experience because of a confluence of things: my own life, my divorce, being too far behind, competing agendas, then Zack’s personal tragedy and the reshoot. It was just the worst experience. It was horrible. That was all I didn’t like about it.
He further added,
“It became the moment when I said, ‘I don’t do that anymore. It’s not even about, like, Justice League was that bad. Because it could have been anything.

Robert Pattinson has been signed as the new Batman who recently appeared in his movie, The Batman with two sequels to follow.
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon start a production company
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, longtime closest friends, have started a production company together. They recently announced in an interview the creation of Artists Equity, a production company aimed at giving artists a bigger share of the profits from streaming.
The reason for the creation of this company was the lack of opportunities for artists and artisans to share in box office profits. Affleck has revealed how working at a production company opened his eyes to the struggles on the business side of Hollywood. However, this does not make him regret the decision, but rather wishes he had made it sooner.
“As streamers have proliferated, they’ve really shut down back-end participation, and so it’s partly an effort to try to capture some of that value and share it in a more equitable way. Not just writers, directors and stars. But also directors of photography, editors, costume designers and other crucial artists who, in my opinion, are very underpaid.

Artists Equity has already raised $100 million in funding, primarily from investment firm RedBird Capital Partners. The company’s CEO position would be held by Ben Affleck, while Matt Damon would serve as the company’s chief creative officer.
“There was a part of me, I have to admit, it was like – come on, these studio guys sit behind desks and make phone calls. The artists are the ones who have to go and make the movie and do all the work. I’ve been humiliated before,” Affleck said. “But my only regret is that I didn’t have the sense of myself to try this sooner. Now I feel very ready to do it. I’m just at that time in life when you have enough experience , confidence and assurance.
Artists Equity already plans to release three projects in 2023, with plans to scale and release at least five projects per year going forward.
