Changing the hierarchy of power in DC, Peter Safran and James Gunn were brought to sit at the head of the table in the superhero universe. While James Gunn focuses more on the creative elements, Peter Safran will handle production and business. Ever since the duo took the reins of DCU into their own hands, fans have been convinced that the future of the superhero world is quite bright.
With their leadership, there’s a lot of speculation about where DCU is headed, especially when it comes to Superman. Henry Cavill’s return has uprooted many rumors and theories about his place in the universe. James Gunn isn’t too happy with these rumors as he took to Twitter to call out posts spreading fake news about DCU’s future.

DCU is a beloved superhero universe that has fans all over the world. With such popularity, speculation is bound to arise. However, co-CEO James Gunn has none of it, especially when it comes to Henry Cavill’s Superman. Gunn took to Twitter and called out anyone who was making assumptions about DCU’s future.
He stated that no one outside of him and Peter Safran has any idea what is going on inside DC studios and if anyone claims that, they are just taking advantage of the fans. He has ambiguously denied all rumors about Henry Cavill’s comeback contract.
I don’t know if you’re lying on purpose or if you’re being taken advantage of by someone who’s lying to you, but, as I’ve said before here, NO ONE knows what’s going on at DC Studios right now, other than me and To fart. This would include drafting any new contracts for anyone at this point.

His tweet was most likely directed to the Small Screen site. An article written by Edward Lauder stated that Cavill’s contract includes several projects, including television appearances. After a while, Geekosity also cited the website in an article of its own. Gunn was quick to call out the rumours, responding directly to Geekosity’s tweet. He didn’t tag Small Screen in his tweet, however.
Nevertheless, no mention was necessary because the message reached the people in question. Small Screen responded to Gunn’s tweet thanking him for being “so direct with the fans. They then clarified that they were only reporting what their trusted source at Warner Bros. Discovery had told them and they never mentioned a contract.
Fans stand in solidarity with Gunn saying it’s a good thing the Peacemaker the creator cares enough to keep fans away from fake news.

What’s next for the DC Universe?
Gunn’s tweet may have put an end to the rumors surrounding Cavill’s return, but that won’t stop fans from wondering what’s next for DC superheroes, will it? Ever since fans got so excited about Superman’s cameo in black adam, it’s just that they hold brainstorming sessions.
For now, it seems that the Steel man The actor has yet to sign a deal with DCU. Besides Superman’s hazy future, DCU will release four new movies next year, including Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Blue Beetle and Shazam! Fury of the gods, and The flash. Since Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton are both returning as Batman in flash, who knows maybe Cavill will be up for more cameos? Either way, Gunn is certainly hiding the future of the studios.
