It’s hard to imagine anyone other than the infamous trio – Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland – playing the role of their respective Spider-Man. But as with the middle child of the Sony x Marvel IP, the role of the Amazing Spider-Man almost went to Joe Jonas. The singer recalls going quite far during the audition process, but Marc Webb focused on the most worthy candidate. While the Hold singer takes his defeat with humility, the experience proved necessary to put him on the path to production and focus more on his musical career.

Joe Jonas remembers auditioning for The Amazing Spider-Man

However, the lead actor’s take on the hyperactive neighborhood superhero was perhaps one of the reasons why the second Spider- Man turned out to be one of the best comically accurate versions of them all. . But it was a battle between dozens of aspiring Spider-Men in auditions before the world got to see the legendary Andrew Garfield in action.

But other events were being prepared in 2012 alongside the preparations for The Amazing Spider-Man it would affect, surprise and shock fans around the world. The Jonas Brothers, Disney darlings and boy band superstars of the mid-to-late 2000s, officially announced their split in 2013. As Joe Jonas recently revealed in the Just for variety podcast interview, a year before the brothers went on hiatus, he tried out for the role of Amazing Spider-Man.
“I remember years ago I was in for Spider-Man, and I was so, so excited, and that was the year Andrew Garfield got him. Obviously, he was the right one. But you know what? I love the process of auditioning, showing up and having to prove yourself.
7 years later, however, the hard-hitting singer with the famous falsetto returns once again to the world stage with the announcement of the reunion of the Jonas Brothers via their 2019 album, Happiness begins.

The new decade brings new adventures for 33-year-old Joe Jonas, who once again finds himself in the position of trying out his skills in the Hollywood big-screen industry. With a reinvigorated generation of movie stars following the hiatus of 2020, the industry finds itself in the midst of a flurry of activity, and the war action movie Dedication gives the young and talented cast the platform to relaunch themselves at the forefront of film and theater productions. Being part of this revival, says Joe Jonas,
“When you have a woman like Sophie Turner, who is a phenomenal actress, the one who films you and directs you through, you have to bring your A-game. Yes, I’m going to be a little nervous, [but she’s] super helpful.

Dedication also includes Top Gun: Maverick star Glen Powell and MCU actor Jonathan Majors, among others, and is inspired by the true stories of US Navy aviators Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner and their role in turning the tide of the Korean War.
