Disney recently released a new animated movie and chances are you haven’t heard of it. by Disney strange world focuses on the family of explorers, the Clades. The film was released on November 23 with a score of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes. 61 from Walt Disney Animation Studiosst movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Dennis Quaid among other names.
However, Disney fans are a bit confused. They wonder if the movie was announced before its release as they have a hard time placing a time when they saw anything about the movie’s release on their phone screens. Has Disney Forgot The Movie? While some compare it to Encanta, others think the film might have been overshadowed.

The initial gains for strange world directed by Don Hall were quite disappointing. Made on a whopping $180 million budget, the animated film only managed to earn $800,000. According to one estimate, even earning $40 million during the Thanksgiving holiday might be a bit of a stretch. Sure, animated movies don’t really make a big splash at the box office, but strange world’The reception is particularly discouraging.
Why was the film not played? Well, Disney fans have a theory. They think Disney didn’t really play their part in the publicity for the movie. People took to Twitter to express their confusion stating that they hadn’t even heard of strange world until its release. Many have compared the film to Encanto which also wasn’t quite discussed until it was available to stream on Disney+.

Fans also believe that the animated film got lost somewhere between the hype of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Avatar: The Way of Water. This is perhaps no exaggeration as both of these films were heavily advertised and The way of the water is currently monopolizing all the excitement among Disney fans. One movie fanatic on Twitter even said that even keeping an eye on movie blogs and reading them every day, no mention of strange world was seen.
Fans believe the film will only gain popularity once it becomes available to stream on Disney+. Looks like strange world met the same fate as many other animated films released by Disney.

With Jake Gyllenhaal and Gabrielle Union as lead voices in the film, strange world create a new and exciting world. The main character, Ethan, being openly queer, was quite refreshing to watch. While Disney’s previous attempts to portray gay characters have fallen flat, Ethan’s portrayal combined with his crush on Diazo makes it look much better than previous attempts. It’s not forced or “just there” for the views. However, the film falls victim to the usual Disney clichés.
While critics call it a fun movie to watch, they also mention that it’s a pretty forgettable movie, making it a single judge. Critics also add that if strange world has a unique aspect, the story is not entirely original in itself. Disney fans are however free to judge for themselves!
