The IndianaJones franchise really lit up the ’80s. But as director Steven Spielberg tried to revive the franchise in 2008, things just didn’t work out for those involved. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull proved to be the weakest and most absurd installment in the franchise. And now that Logan Director James Mangold given the task of reviving with a fifth outing at Indy, he’s been blessed with a major tip from the original director.
After his debut The Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981, Steven Spielberg worked with Harrison Ford in two more releases called Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, released in 1984 and 1989 respectively. Then after almost 2 decades, it came back with a fourth release. Unfortunately, a fanbase that praised his work for 3 movies was suddenly split. But still, 3 out of 4 is a good score and with the kind of experience he has he was the perfect guy to leave Mangold with some sage advice.

Steven Spielberg’s advice to James Mangold
By speaking with EmpireMangold revealed the simple but important advice he received from the legendary director.
“Steven said to me, ‘This is a movie that’s a trailer from start to finish – always moving’.”
Needless to say, Spielberg was on point.
Not much is known about the plot of Indiana Jones 5. But rumors suggest it will follow a time travel plot and send the iconic character back in time to fight a group of Nazis. So, while doing this, fans hope the film will also rekindle the magic this franchise brought to the 80s. And this was achieved by 3 perfectly paced stories, constantly moving forward while maintaining the thrill and action all during.

The production of Indiana Jones 5
Wolverine and Logan fans would agree that James Mangold totally has the ability to do justice to a film like IndianaJones. He took a long time to work on the fifth outing. His originally slated release date was 2021. So with a 2-year delay, Disney and fans are really hoping that Mangold will deliver a stellar entry and give a strong exit to one of Harrison Ford’s greatest characters.
Besides Ford, another big plus was the addition of Mads Mikkelsen as another villainous character. The guy does really well playing compelling villains, and we can only hope he continues to do the same here.
