In a recent interview with Collider, Pom Klementieff, the star who plays the role of Mantis in the Guardians of the Galaxy series was asked about the experience of what it was like to shoot for the movie series’ holiday special with everyone else. She had a lot to say about his experience with everyone on set, and she also talked about how he toured famed Hollywood Boulevard dressed as his character Mantis.

But eventually the big question came up and Klementieff had a big reveal that she decided to share with everyone. She revealed that the appearance of Kevin Bacon, popularly for being part of films like Footloose, Apollo 13and Friday 13, had been on James Gunn’s mind since the first movie came out. She said there were subtle clues throughout the series of Free from all ties, even call Kevin Bacon’s name at one point.
As fans know, Gunn is very much in love with 80s culture. From music to movies and TV shows, the director is known for expressing his interests very openly, often giving audiences nostalgia. So it was exciting to see one of the great parts of his expression on screen alongside his characters.

What to expect from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?
There’s a lot fans have already seen about the next installment of the movie, except for the trailer (please, Mr. Gunn, post it!). It has also been confirmed that the film will be set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, we still don’t know if it will be after the events of Thor: Love and Thunder or before. Plus, with the reveal that Mantis is Starlord’s half-sister from the Holiday Special, it’s going to be yet another wild ride for audiences with more 80s music.
