COVID Cases Strike Down To 60% Since September

We all know the severity of COVID-19 that has flown up among all of us in the past year. Even though the number of emerging cases is voiding, it has been important for people to take precautions.

US Health officials have taken up charge by saying that 60% of COVID-19 cases have been reduced in the past month, but still, people have to be aware that we are still compromised and not completely immune.

As the winters arrive, we have to consider the fact that many children are still yet to be vaccinated. After the doses of vaccination, we are still not immune to the COVID-19 disease.

Dr. Rochelle Walensky, who is the director for Disease Control and Prevention, has stated that “We are now heading in the right direction … but with cases still high, we must remain vigilant heading into the colder, drier winter months.”

Now with new data, it is observed that the number of cases of Covid-19 has reduced to a good extent, but there is nothing that can make one go out without taking precautions.

The experts have checked the data from a number of sources that can help them know the options to counter the present cases in different regions. As per experts, there has been a huge fall in almost every state as far as the cases of covid are concerned, which is definitely an achievement.

Due to the extreme weather, experts are analyzing the risk of the spread of COVID-19 once again, which is still a thing to understand by the people of America. In 2021, a total of 251,800 new cases a day was the highest recorded in mid-January. There were 51,541 cases in last month’s average, which is almost 50.4% lower than September.

The last week’s average count of COVID-19 cases was 69,011; comparing it to mid-September, the cases that time hiked over 127,531. This report was analyzed by Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Richina Bicette, an associate medical director from a well-known university, said that “We saw this happen in June over the summer when we declared the pandemic to be over a bit too early.”Understanding her concern that pandemic is not yet to knock the doors of America so soon, but it doesn’t mean it will not.

COVID-19 took up a great wave among the people around the world. As there was no lockdown initiated in America previously, people had to take extreme measures to survive. Right now, the majority of the population has been vaccinated, but that doesn’t make people completely immune from the disease. As we know, the majority of age gaps between the generations make it difficult for us to vaccinate the children.

The medical officials are trying their best to give us hope to understand the severity and work on it accordingly. Winters are on their way; people may catch up cold, sneezing would increase the chances of spreading of COVID-19 in huge numbers. The current rate, i.e., 51541 cases on average, is just a glimpse, people expect it to increase during winter, and this could be a bad phase indeed.

“We decided that those who are vaccinated need not wear masks, which turned into everyone not wearing masks, and then subsequently the spike and the Delta wave followed,” Dr. Richina added. This simply alerts people to take up precautions and gives people are proper understanding of the consequences that can be faced from previous experiences. Till then, wear masks, have a distance of 6 feet from person to person, washing hands regularly is a must, and self-quarantine, if symptoms are observed, is mandatory.
