Home Testing Is Required Prior To Vacationing For Better Protection

Despite the fact that there is no 100% immunization rate in America, people have begun to migrate. Thanksgiving and Christmas are considered to be the most important reasons for traveling. Before going on vacation, many people have started taking COVID 19 tests at home through antigen rapid testing kits. Although home COVID tests are accurate and convenient for a quick check, officials are concerned about the rising number of cases. People would not submit test findings, which is a major issue in case counting.

As per some medical experts, it is not completely possible to track the home testing reports and these people might not be included in the overall covid 19 case count due to lack of information and results available.

On the other side, Leana Wen, an emergency physician at George Washington University, advised that antigen-based home testing kits must be readily available as if the cases surge in the upcoming weeks then surely the demand for these testing kits will increase.

In the past few weeks, the sale of the home-based testing kits has increased as they are easily available at the local pharmacist and tests can be taken without any doctor prescription.

People who are unvaccinated against the virus are highly unprotected and the chances are very high that they might be the reason for the spread of the virus to those who are fully vaccinated.

As per the latest CDC reports, only 18% of all Americans have received their booster shots. Children and the elderly are more susceptible to the virus, which could lead to a rise in cases during the holidays. So, if you are an adult and eligible for the booster shots must get it done and parents must start vaccinating their kids as they will be more prone to the covid 19 virus during the Christmas holidays.

Due to the holidays, the number of cases has increased.

According to the previous month’s data, The United States saw a dip in the coronavirus cases in the entire nation, keeping aside a few exceptional states, and the cases from September till late October fell down. But with the holiday season arriving, many people traveled to meet their loved ones and it is considered as the reason for the increasing infection rate in the month of November.

The full vaccination rate in the United States stood at approximately 60 percent. The medical experts are continuously urging people to take complete precautions as this winter surge will see an average per day of cases around 150,000.

Those who are traveling to celebrate the festive season must conduct their own covid 19 tests at home and if there are very minute symptoms of the virus detected, then quarantining is the best way to reduce the spread of the virus.

Since tracking the cases is not easy, the central government is working with companies to allow people to upload the results of the test via a technology-driven application.
