The surge in the Covid 19 cases in the State of California has become a major risk in the past few weeks. Many counties in California are still struggling to get over this rise in the Covid 19 cases and hospitalization. California, in sync with the other four states, approved the booster shots for all adults of 18 years and above. This expansion in the eligibility of booster shots was done to enhance the immunity and it will help the major population to fight deadly delta variants easily.

California was the first state in the country to require complete vaccination of all healthcare practitioners. Surgeons, nurses, engineers, sanitation workers, and other employees at clinics, community clinics, doctor’s offices, nursing homes, substance abuse centers, as well as other institutions are covered by the order, which is amongst the most restrictive in the country.

If we compare the infection rate in California this Thanksgiving with the previous year’s Thanksgiving holidays, the cases were very high last year. Though vaccination has proved to be effective up to a certain time limit and this arises the need to give booster shots. 

The Governor of California Gavin Newsom encouraged the eligible population to avail themselves of the booster shots to stay protected during this Thanksgiving and the upcoming Christmas Holidays. 

As per a study conducted, the medical look of the state is safer than the previous year vaccination was not available and now most of the population is vaccinated which gives an extra edge this year. 

Though some medical researchers have predicted that there will be a high surge in the covid 19 cases in California due to the upcoming winter season and when people will host get-togethers, during the Christmas season, it will become more difficult to handle the situation. 

As per the reports, exclusions for medical and religious reasons are minimal. State medical experts published a directive on Tuesday that prolonged the mandate to in-home, hospice, disability center, and retirement center hospital employees, but granted them an additional two months to adhere to, which is until November 30.

Gov. Gavin Newsom recently announced a vaccination compulsion for kids aged 12 and older, making California the first state in the country to compel children to be immunized for in-person education, in yet another strong move to stem the transmission of COVID-19 and keep kids safe. 

The medical authorities in California have found a more than 10 percent increase in hospitalization cases amongst unvaccinated people. The nurses in California also complained about the fatigue level and this has increased the stress level, depression and has made them quit nursing. This has given birth to the shortage issue of nurses in the hospitals. 

According to the California Department of Public Health, all vaccinated individuals in California who want a COVID-19 booster dose are allowed and they shall themselves determine the need and urgency for the booster shots. 

Although right now California is moving towards a stable condition and fighting hard towards the safety of its citizens.
