Two Dose Vaccines Won’t Last Long Without Booster Shots

Since the initial days of the Covid 19 outbreak in the USA, the demand to come up with a vaccine that will help in curing and restricting the virus increased, and many companies researched about the virus and manufactured vaccines that boost the immunity level.

Pfizer, Moderna came up with the vaccines and in December 2020, the then President of the USA Donald Trump announced the vaccination drive for the adults.

Two Dose Vaccines Won’t Last Long Without Booster Shots

The United States of America has witnessed over 47 million Covid 19 cases till now and the rate at which cases are increasing has become a matter of concern. The health experts in the country are concerned about the increasing cases and when compared to the month of October, there is a rise of more than 40 percent in the Covid 19 cases in the month of November.

Two Dose Vaccines Won't Last Long Without Booster Shots

As per some reports and medical statistics by CDC and FDA, the initial vaccination effectiveness is decreasing with the passage of time. The protection level is diminishing after the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine and some medical experts are even questioning the vaccine manufacturer.

For a few months, the demand to give booster shots to the vaccinated people in the country increased, and the trial reports and data were also shared with the Federal government.

Some US states like California, Colorado, New Mexico without taking any approval from the central health agencies, passed the law and allowed all the adults from 18 years and above to get their booster shots to increase the immunity power. This step became very important for the states as there was a major rise in the covid 19 cases.

On the other hand, Dr. Anthony Fauci, The Chief Medical Adviser also stressed the efficiency of both vaccines and said within a span of four to six months the effectiveness is reducing and that is the reason why covid 19 cases are increasing in the vaccinated population.

The comments from Dr. Fauci also put the Federal Government under pressure and The Food and Drug Administration and The Centers for Disease and Prevention Last week gave approval for the booster shots for all the adults. Earlier the booster shots were only allowed for the 65 and above age group as they were more prone to the delta variant.

Now, the vaccine eligibility criteria were expanded for all adults from 18 and above. Many medical researchers also suggested considering booster shots as fully vaccinated. On the other hand, Dr. Fauci said due to lack of information and results available, considering a booster shot as a fully vaccinated is not possible right now, but with time if the situation demands we will announce the same.

With the increasing concern about the vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna, people must follow all the precautionary measures and if become eligible must go for the booster shot. The only way to stay protected is to follow the covid 19 rules.
