As per reports, it has been found that the newly detected variant of coronavirus possesses 30 mutants, and the transmission rate can be very high. Some medical experts are expecting the spread of Omicron to be worse as the severity level is still under doubt.

This new mutant has been found in South Africa on 24 November and since that day the whole world is under panic mode. The rise of this variant can be very dangerous and already Omicron has started to cross international borders.
The Omicron variant has already spread its legs in more than 10 countries and according to the World Health Organization, this variant is the “variant of Concern”. The new cases have been found in Belgium, the United Kingdom and most countries have put a travel ban on African countries. The USA has restricted flights from South Africa and its neighboring countries where the spread is major.

The Food and Drug Administration has allowed adults aged 18 and above to receive booster shots if they are eligible. Those who have received the initial 2 doses of Moderna and Pfizer at least 6 months ago and 2 months ago for Jhonson & Jhonson are eligible for the booster shots.
The CDC has directed all the state medical authorities to increase the vaccination rate in the United States as the only way to stay protected and safe during the outbreak of Omicron Variant of Covid 19.
The health experts in the US are also stressing the fact that adults must receive booster shots as it will help in overcoming the diminishing effectiveness of vaccines and it is the best alternative to increase the immunity system of citizens.
In the USA approximately 47 million adults are yet to receive their vaccines and the level of transmission of Omicron variant it is recommended to get vaccinated as soon as possible as the winter season is approaching and if not vaccinated surely there will be a sudden spike in the hospitalization rate and hence might lead to more death rates. The vaccine will offer complete protection to their families and kids.
As per the latest reports, there is no single case of the Omicron variant has been detected in the United States. Till the time more studies are not available on the symptoms and severity of the Omicron, the CDC will act as a watchdog and analyze all the situations and development of medical plans to curb this variant.
The CDC officials said that testing will help in identifying this new variant easily and if you have minor symptoms just get yourself tested, stated by Walensky.
