Moderna Concerned About The Effectiveness Of Its Vaccine
Many medical professionals have already put tough questions from the vaccination manufacturers related to the efficiency of their vaccines if there will be any widespread Omicron variant.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, The Cheif Medical Adviser of the Federal government has raised concern whether the current vaccines will be able to fight this new Coronavirus variant or not. Even on Saturday, The US Center of Diseases and Control Prevention has directed all the medical authorities in the country to tighten their seat belts and start the prevention process.
As per the data and reports, in the USA around 60 million citizens are unvaccinated and it has become a center of tensions amongst the medical authorities in the country.
Dr. Fauci has stated that it is true fact that there is no reason why people are not receiving their vaccination and these unvaccinated people have become a real threat for the vaccinated population in the United States. In the month of October and November, 90 percent of the hospitalization and deaths cases are from non-vaccinated people.
The Chief Executive Officer of Moderna has stated in a statement that the vaccines might not be as effective against this newly detected Coronavirus variant.
On 29 November, The CEO of Pfizer also stated that its antiviral pill Paxlovid will be very effective giants omicron variant and they also urged the US FDA to use its antiviral pills as a treatment to reduce the hospitalization and death rate. The company has also shown confidence in producing a new vaccine in 100 days.
On the other hand, Moderna is yet to speak on this matter as their antiviral pill has also shown 50 percent effective results against severe hospitalization and death.
Stephane Bancel has said we need to work on improving the vaccine in order to make it more effective and efficient against the Omicron variant.
Dr. Fauci and President Joe Biden met and discussed the development plans against the Omicron variant. Dr. Fauci communicated that we need at least 2-3 weeks to understand this variant and its mutations.
The Moderna CEO also stated that the symptoms are very mild and the severity level is still unknown. Till now there are no cases of death due to the Omicron variant but the spread can be very worse.
The travel restrictions on African countries have started and The federal government is already urging the unvaccinated people to receive their vaccines and start protecting themselves as there is no single case of Omicron and people have time to get vaccinated. The winter season and Christmas Holidays are arriving and health experts have predicted a sharp rise in the cases, so the only way to stay protected and safe is by getting vaccinated and if eligible, receiving the booster shots will be the best option.
