As per the WHO, the news of the new variant spread across the world with a shock. And the world has already started witnessing the threat and negative effects of the new Omicron Variant of Coronavirus. The toll of Covid-19 cases in the US has been rising for the past two months and surpassed more than 100,000 cases per day according to the CDC.

On the other hand, the Omicron variant is also spreading with a great speed as the level of Mutant it carries makes it more transmissible than the delta variant, but the delta variant is more lethal as per some studies and experienced medical experts in the states.

The symptoms of the variant in the people were mild and no death has been reported in the USA from the Omicron variant. As per the latest reports, more than one-third of the United States is infected with Omicron Variant.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top US Health official, and Chief Medical Adviser stated his views on this bus saying, “The present condition is not as serious as we had expected, though the cases will increase in the states and as of now the situation is under control.
He further added that the medical researchers and scientists need much time to analyze the new variant as the data available is very little and coming directly to the conclusion is not justifiable. “It is just the initial stage of spread and we can’t say anything right away.
The US medical authorities are collecting omicron variant samples from different sources and testing to reach a firm conclusion faster. The contact tracing has been given approval by the Biden Administration and it will help in early detection of the Omicron variant infected patients.
The spread is massive and the only way to get through this situation is vaccinations and booster shots. The vaccination will provide extra protection against this newly detected variant. Some states have increased the restrictions like vaccination proof to enter major venues like indoor dining, fitness centers.
The travel restrictions have been increased in order to ensure the spread is not much as more people will be traveling to their homes in the upcoming days to celebrate the Christmas festival.
