Living with the Covid 19 has become a new normal and almost everyone in this world has accepted this harsh fact. As per some reports, the Covid 19 virus will take the form of new variants after every few months.
After the introduction of vaccines to the world, there was a sigh of relief that coronavirus may end soon and people will be back to their basic lives. But during the month of June 2021, the new variant called, the delta variant, entered and started to infect people very fastly as it carried more mutations than the original virus.
According to the statistical reports from the Centers for Disease and Control Prevention, on 27 June there were 12,000 cases per day in the United States and by end of July 2021, the cases rose by almost more than 3 times, and it was due to the rise in the delta variant.
There was a huge spike in the delta variant cases in the United States and it became a major concern for the Federal Government and the Medical Authorities to curb cases.
According to the medical researchers, the vaccination showed promising results and the cases started to lower down but during the month of October and November, the cases started to rise again and started disrupting the lives of people. The average daily cases rose to 94,000 daily till the end of November month.
On 24 November the world got a new shock when The World Health Organization broke the news of a new variant of Covid 19, the Omicron which is considered a new threat to the lives of Citizens.
This new variant of Covid 19 came from South Africa and will travel much faster than the delta variant and now people must accept the fact that “Covid is the new normal”
Dr. Anthony Fauci has revealed that no matter how many mutations Omicron strain carries, the delta variant will always remain more lethal and it is a subject of concern for the hospitals. Since the winter season has started, as per some medical experts, the new cases will rise in the United States and also people will gather for the Christmas celebrations which will give more push to the Covid 19 virus to spread further.
The health authorities have been urging people to follow the Covid 19 basic rules which include, wearing proper masks, social distancing. People must try not to travel much if there is no urgency.
The Biden Administration and other major Health Agencies in the United States are encouraging more citizens to get vaccinated super soon as vaccination is the only way to stay protected and safe from the new Omicron variant.
The US CDC Director in a press conference said eligible adult citizens in the US must receive their booster shots as it will help in increasing the immunity power for the long term.
