Four More Omicron Variant Cases Found In New York State Confirms

On December 6, 2021, the Governor of New York City, Kathy Hochul confirmed the detection of four more cases in New York State. The total number of Covid omicron variants in New York is 12. The New York State Department of Health’s Wadsworth Center has confirmed these cases with the aid of Sar-Cov2 sequencing.
Addressing the current situation in New York State, The Governor gave her statement and she stated, “The four more confirmed cases in the New York State is definitely a matter of concern for all of us but this is not a state of havoc and we just need to stay protected and follow all the precautionary measures.
With Christmas approaching, all of us need to be more agile. Following social distancing, wearing masks in public and sanitization should be of our topmost priority. Additionally, Covid vaccination and booster shots are some of the best means we can protect ourselves and our loved ones from the infection. It is the best way to stay safe and protected from infection. I hereby request all the eligible citizens to get their vaccination and booster shot at the earliest.”
Kathy Hochul also acknowledged the fact that December is the month of celebrations. People are more likely to stay indoors with family and friends. Hence in her statement, she clearly mentions “We have various tools and resources to safeguard ourselves and fight the pandemic.

The New York State Department of Health’s Wadsworth Center Laboratory is working with a team of researchers and scientists to study all the samples of the Omicron variant, compare sequences for variant analysis. The scientists and health experts are working day in and day out to study the characteristics and transmission rate of the Covid variant.ṣ
