A Federal Judge Put On Hold The Vaccine Mandate Rule In The US

The fight over the vaccine mandate for federal employees is taking a new turn every day and it seems like the controversy is never-ending. Some of the US states filed a lawsuit against the Biden Administration over the vaccination mandate.

A Federal Judge Put On Hold The Vaccine Mandate Rule In The US

It has been expected that approximately 94 percent of the government workers had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 immunization by the deadline set by President Biden. President Biden’s immunization policy compelled federal employees to be fully vaccinated by November 22 or demand a medical or religious exempt status.

On Tuesday, there was a new twist in the vaccine mandate story, and a Federal Judge put on hold the White House vaccine mandate rule. Some state Governors are arguing that this law is illegal and doesn’t abide by the law.

The policy was imposed by President Biden in September 2021 stating that government contractors who do not cooperate with the mandate will not be fired immediately.

The Central and State authorities will continue to counsel these workers and if they can prove medical waivers, the authorities won’t vaccinate. The unvaccinated employees and contractors will be encouraged to avail the benefits of receiving the vaccination and it will even motivate more government workers to get vaccinated.

As per the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention, vaccination is the only route towards the safety of American citizens and those who are unvaccinated must receive their vaccinations at the earliest.

The Omicron variant has started to spread in the United States and already crossed more than 22 state borders. Although till now the severity of this variant is not much known and is considerably lower than the delta variant, in the near future more analysis and results will showcase the actual reality.

The Biden Administration has stated that the employees must not consider this as a mandate but a duty towards the nation to achieve the full vaccination rate. Surely the vaccination will keep the contractors and their employees safe and with the upcoming holiday season, it will be easy to celebrate and make memories if they are fully vaccinated.

According to the official, around 5% of employees have urged an exception or extension.

For months, the United States government protested vaccine mandates due to concerns about criticism, but with the delta variant provoking an increase in cases and the vaccination rate is stagnant, Biden approved orders requiring all civilian government workers and personnel of government contractors to provide proof of immunizations if they wish to continue to work.

A similar provision was imposed on military personnel, frontline workers, and health care employees and similarly, the central government faced a lot of backlash from major states.

Also, many medical agencies are claiming the fact that halting the vaccine mandate rule is a serious issue and the court must take deep consideration. Putting the vaccine rule on hold means risking the lives of millions of US citizens.
