In order to provide more support to the state of Michigan, the Federal Government in their winter plan has announced measures. Reacting to the already grim situation, the leaders of the state have now announced their support for the winter plan announced by the Federal Government to battle the deadly virus.
The Federal plan aims to help all stakeholders in Michigan in their battle against the delta as well as the Omicron variant of the Coronavirus. The plan is meant to improve health and also save millions for the state.
Among the benefits that the Federal Government’s plan shall provide Michiganders, the provision requiring private insurers to reimburse policyholders the expenses incurred for getting tests at home or otherwise is an important one. The plan also aims at expanding access to free at-home tests to uninsured individuals and underserved communities.
To battle against the rising caseloads, the plan also provides for the creation of 60 emergency response teams in the state along with counseling services to get more people vaccinated at the earliest.
While there is a concern regarding the spread of the new Omicron variant in the state, the majority of the current cases are in the state of the widespread Delta Variant. Also as per the various big medical authorities in the US, the delta variant will prevail to be the most dangerous variant.
Although, the data related to the Omicron variant is still under evaluation and healthcare experts shall be able to get detailed information about the variant in a few weeks’ time.
According to State Budget Director Chris Harkins, the Federal plan for Michigan is what the state needed and the support released based on the plan has the ability to transform the position of the state in terms of healthcare in the years to come. According to him, the Federal Government’s plan is complementary to what the state has been currently doing and the support shall prove critical in the fight against Covid-19.
In order to increase the awareness regarding the advantages of getting vaccinated or getting a booster, the plan also provides for launching a public education campaign. Different measures like “test to stay” programs and layered prevention strategies shall help schools stay open during these difficult times.
People must follow all the rules and regulations related to the Covid 19 precautions in order to keep themselves protected and safe. The Governor also stated that the state citizens must get vaccinated very soon.ṣ
