Booster Shots From Pfizer Have Shown Positive Results

The pharmaceutical companies have given their best in providing the world with effective vaccines and booster shots and as per the Biden government, they are in touch with the vaccine developers to work on increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of current vaccines available for the citizens.

As per the World Health Organization, the new omicron virus is under research and the scientists are trying to analyze and understand the magnitude of the issue and it will further take some weeks to come to a final conclusion. 

The vaccine manufacturing companies Pfizer and BioNTech have conducted different clinical tests and researches on the variant samples for developing vaccines and testing their effectiveness. The studies carried out have revealed that the two doses of vaccine provided to the people to fight corona were not much effective against the omicron. 

This statement has also been made official by Pfizer in a press release that booster shots will help in enhancing the immunity to fight against the new subtype of the Covid 19. Also, the plan to introduce a third dose of vaccine will be very effective and increase immunity power by 25 folds.

Though the additional studies conducted suggest that a booster shot along with the current COVID-19 vaccine can help increase the antibodies. Several studies and experiments are being conducted to see if the drug has any effect in improving the conditions of omicron-affected patients or in blocking its action. 

Further, the rise of the omicron variant in the United States has become a debatable topic and many states are under serious pressure to curb the surge. 

Earlier this week, the vaccine development company Pfizer applied for the emergency use of booster shots for teenagers of 17-18 years and got approval from the US Food and Drug Administration. Now this age group is eligible to receive booster shots to enhance the immune system.

The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention has been asking all adults to get their booster jab as soon as possible as the cases are expected to rise further due to the increase in traveling for the festive season.

The Food and Drug Administration expanded the booster shot eligibility criteria for all adults of 18 years and above and during the initial phase of booster shots it was only eligible for the 65 years old and above. 

The booster shot is eligible for the 18 years and above if they have received the second dose of either Pfizer or Moderna at least 6 months ago and for Johnson & Johnson it is 2 months. 

As per some medical experts, before going ahead with taking the booster shot, the patients can consult and discuss the time-lapse with their healthcare professionals.
