According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, during this winter season, the United States might see a new spike in the cases, although not more than the last year’s because this time vaccines are widely available and it will curb the cases up to a certain level.
Furthermore, the omicron variant cases are increasing more than the expectations and have covered more than 50 percent of the states. The good news is that the country is yet to receive its first death case due to this new variant of omicron.
As per the statistical data released by the US CDC, the daily average cases in the United United states have crossed 119,000 and the hospitalization rate is increasing with the decreasing temperature and people moving to their homes for the festive season.
It has been expected that the omicron variant cases will increase in the upcoming weeks. The Central Government has asked citizens to get fully vaccinated if they really want to enjoy the Christmas family gatherings.
Many healthcare experts in the United States are claiming that the covid 19 is seasonal and it will be very tough to predict upcoming variants of the Covid 19.
The global leaders are working together to end this pandemic and reach a point where people can live a natural life.
As per the recent reports, the hospitalization cases have seen a surge during the month of October-November and it will further rise and maximum cases have been detected in the midwest states. These states are also complaining about the shortage of medical supplies and other hospital facilities like general beds and ICU beds.
During the initial phase of the Covid 19 in the United States, the country saw a major wave where more than 300,000 American Citizens lost their lives.
Earlier this year, when the vaccination drive was at its full speed, the cases started to slow down during the end of the summer season. But after the delta variant of coronavirus hit the United States, the cases started to surge and as per some of the best medical professionals in the nation, the delta variant is the deadliest strain and no matter what all strains come, it will remain more lethal.
Currently, out of the daily covid 19 cases, 99 percent of the cases have been detected from the delta variant.
