In a recent study about the efficiency of the vaccine against the new Omicron, new findings have been discovered.
According to the study, it was suggested and found that people who previously suffered from Covid and who are fully vaccinated have a stronger weight against the new covid variant. The new strain is yet of concern as the studies showed that the new variant exceeds the normal invading potential compared to the other mutations.
The research which got published stated that the 3rd dose might work against the virus but at the same time can slightly challenge the protection from the new strain. However, the researcher and authors also accepted that more study and research are still required.
We as citizens still have time to stop the third wave or any other wave of covid, and the rule of covid is still the same. Practicing social distancing, wearing masks, avoiding huge gatherings, and sanitizing can prevent the forthcoming waves.
All the findings of the research and studies conducted so far are yet not confirmed, and the scientists are still trying to find out more about the new variant.
The research about covid and the varients has been going on for three years, and we already have so many papers published and findings of the same. The study was done by an Institute that stated the same thing as the recently published research. One of the early research projects said that the new covid variant, Omicron, can easily invade the immunity of people.
Wang stated that the study found new changes in the people because of a new variant regarding the neutralizing capacity in people already suffering from Covid 19. We still have hope as research shows a slightly higher baseline for the protection against the new covid variant. Having an ED50 is still a positive sign that means all our vaccines did not get wasted.
The team working on the same research stated that the 3rd dose strategy would be our weapon to fight this battle against the new variant of covid.
Wang says that the antibody protection decrease over the period of 6 months, and the Omicron variant might find its way down to our immunity. But his team and other research are still hopeful and positive about the 3rd dose strategy.
Four strains of concern and omicron virus were tested against the samples taken from people who were suffering from covid. A total of 28 samples were tested, and these people had the real, original strain of SARS-CoV-2. A team of 11 members
conducted this study.
The study results were quite alarming as the new variant can easily escape from the enhanced immune system, which is a threat. An important point to note here is that all this research was carried in vitro and the real world.
