On 24th November 2021, the World Health Organization announced the birth of a new variant of covid 19 which was detected in South Africa and then traveled to the borders of the United States exactly after a week on 1 December 2021.
Emergence Of Omicron Due To Non-Vaccination – WHO
The WHO has been continuously keeping an eye on the outbreak of this version of coronavirus in different countries. As per the reports, the omicron subtype has already entered more than 100 countries and has covered every state of the US in less than one month and this shows the transmission power of the omicron.
Already the vaccines are under a lot of surveillance and many questions have been raised over the effectiveness and efficiency to fight against the new variant. Now, the WHO has come up with another analysis and has stated that new variants of the original Covid 19 virus will emerge from time to time.
The WHO Director-General also stated that the new variant will be very comfortable with the current vaccine structure. As per him, the effectiveness will decrease more and the new variants will be able to counter the vaccines very easily and this is more concerning for the world.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has already been in touch with the vaccine developers to optimize the current dose of vaccination in order to reduce the infection rate in the US.
The vaccine manufacturing companies like Pfizer and Moderna are already working on developing variant-specific vaccines and will be able to deliver positive results very soon. The US Chief Medical Consultant, Dr. Anthony Fauci is not in favor of a new vaccine for the treatment and has suggested companies focus on enhancing the efficiency of the current vaccines available.
As per the reports, the unequal ratio of the vaccine rate in the country is due to political indifference and this has given more rights to the covid 19 virus to introduce more variants to the world.
The rising cases in the US are because of the slow vaccination rate alleged by many medical experts in the country including Dr. Fauci.
The health officials in the country have blamed misinformation about the vaccines which has led to increasing cases amongst the unvaccinated people and it must be noted that during the delta wave 90 percent of the cases were registered from the unvaccinated population. Currently, approximately 57 million population in America is not vaccinated and have become a major source o0f danger for the vaccinated citizens as they carry the infection from one place to another very easily.
The omicron variant targets the soft spot that is the unvaccinated people. People become hesitant when provided with some wrong information about the vaccines. The vaccination is the only best alternative to stay protected from the track of omicron variant of covid 19.
