US Authorities To Take Critical Measures Against Rising COVID

The United States has become the epicenter of the outbreak of the omicron variant as the cases are increasing at an awkward rate, stressing the medical authorities and Governments officials.

Looking at the current situation, the number of cases averaging in the US has surpassed 700,000 per day and it is a great number and with every passing day, the USA has been breaking its own record of highest single day cases. This is an alarming situation as the nations find it hard to deal with it because the community transmission has begun and by the end of February the country is expected to witness more than 2 million daily cases, infecting overall 140 million citizens in the United States.

The cases are highly on a rise with the introduction of a new variant known as omicron and also termed as the variants of concern by the World Health Organization. This newly detected variant is not lethal when compared with the delta version of covid 19. On the other hand, this strain is very highly contagious as we can feel the presence of this variant in the country, and in less than 2 weeks this version has overtaken its previous rival and has been disrupting the lives of the US citizens.

The Americans are being tested positive rapidly and for this matter, the need to speed up the process of testing and vaccination has been raised. The US Federal Government has asked the states to increase the vaccination and testing facility centers in their respective states and take the responsibility to end this pandemic at the earliest.

Since the pandemic has emerged, things have been harsh on both the administration and the citizens. The state is constantly urging people to stay safe and get vaccinated at their nearest vaccination centers. Right now, staying vaccinated is the only possible solution for everyone to protect themselves and their loved ones as the upcoming wave will be a combination of both the variant, Delta and Omicron.

Although alone both doses are not sufficient enough to handle the infection caused by the omicron and to support the vaccines, the booster shots are said to have a greater level of efficacy against the new subtype of coronavirus as compared to primary doses.

Once you have completed the primary dose of the vaccine, you are eligible to receive a booster shot within five months. The CDC reduced the time gap between receiving booster shots and completing the primary series from six months to five months recently. Keeping in mind the number of cases arriving every day, the state has also increased the number of testing facility centers and the booster shots for children aged 12 to 15 years have been authorized by the FDA and has even started.

The parents are advised to get their children jabbed as soon as possible and help them develop antibodies against the new variant. Though the new variant is said to carry less severity, it is important that necessary precautions must be maintained throughout.
